European Friends of Israel (EFI) was a Brussels-based organization of European Parliament, European parliamentarians whose stated mission is "forging a stronger political relationship and a deeper understanding between Europe and Israel." History Established in September 2006 by 300 Member of the European Parliament, MEPs and national Member of Parliament, MPs, European Friends of Israel aimed to bring together every national parliamentary friendship group with Israel from the EU 27 Member States, together with the friendship group with Israel within the European Parliament. Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI) is a British parliamentary group affiliated to the Conservative Party, which is dedicated to strengthening business, cultural and political ties between the United Kingdom and Israel, as well as between the British Conservative Party and the Israeli Likud party. Friends of Israel in the Parliament of Norway ( no, Israels Venner på Stortinget) is a pro-Israel caucus group consisting of members of the Parliament of Norway. History In 1974 the group constituted a majority in the Parliament of Norway for the first time, with 86 members among the 150 parliamentary representatives. All political parties except for the Socialist Electoral League were represented. In 1981 the group had 100 members, but this number declined following the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982. In the 2005 the group had 28 members from three political parties; 16 from the Progress Party (FrP), 10 from the Christian Democratic Party (KrF) and 2 from the Conservative Party (H). One member, KrF's Jon Lilletun, died during the term. Northern Ireland Friends of Israel is a group dedicated to fostering better relations between Northern Ireland and the State of Israel. The group was launched by the deputy ambassador of Israel, Talya Lador-Fresher, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Henry Grunwald and former First Minister Ian Paisley on 12 March 2009 in Belfast at the Great Hall, Stormont. Anglican Friends of Israel (formerly Anglicans for Israel) is a group of Anglican Christians who support Israel. The group, headed by Belfast-born Simon McIlwane, opposes attempts to single out Israel for criticism without placing its actions in context while ignoring the Palestinian contributions to the conflict.
