Friends (Scooter Song)
"Friends" is a song by German group Scooter, released in May 1995 as the third single from their debut album, '' ... and the Beat Goes On!'' (1995). The song is notable as the first example of the band using high pitched female vocals for the chorus of a song. The band also used this on the follow-up single " Endless Summer" before abandoning it until "Posse (I Need You on the Floor)" in 2001, after which it became a staple of most Scooter singles. The song was covered in 2009 by Klostertaler, for a Scooter tribute album. In April 2011, an updated version of the original, entitled "Friends Turbo", was released as the theme to the German release of the film ''New Kids Turbo''. Critical reception Pan-European magazine ''Music & Media'' wrote, "It seems like they have the exclusive rights to "novelty." Scooter is a German happy hardcore, rave and techno music band founded in Hamburg in 1993. To date, the band has sold over 30 million records and earned over 80 Gold and Platinum awards. Scooter is considered the most commercially successful German single-record act with 23 top ten hits. Since December 2022, the band is composed of lead vocalist H.P. Baxxter. The GfK Entertainment charts are the official music charts in Germany and are gathered and published by GfK Entertainment (formerly Media Control and Media Control GfK International), a subsidiary of GfK, on behalf of Bundesverband Musikindustrie. GfK Entertainment is the provider of weekly Top 100 single and album charts, as well as various other chart formats for genres like compilations, jazz, classical music, schlager, hip hop, dance, comedy, and music videos. Following a lawsuit in March 2014 by Media Control AG, Media Control® GfK International had to change its name. The European Dance Radio Chart (also known as European Dance Radio Top 25) was a weekly chart compiled by pan-European magazine ''Music & Media''. After dance music had played a more dominant role on the magazine's Eurochart Hot 100 in the beginning of the 1990s, the new chart was launched on 28 September 1991. Ramon Zenker (born 11 November 1968) is a German music producer, songwriter, sound engineer and remixer. He is a member of Hardfloor, Fragma Paffendorf and E-Trax, who had a UK #60 hit with Let's Rock.
