Friedl Kubelka (née Bondy, née vom Gröller) (born 1946) is an Austrian photographer, filmmaker and visual artist born in London, England in 1946. Viennese Actionism
Viennese Actionism was a short-lived art movement in the late 20th-century that spanned the 1960s into the 1970s. It is regarded as part of the independent efforts made during the 1960s to develop the issues of performance art, Fluxus, happening, action painting, and body art. Its main participants were Günter Brus, Otto Mühl, Hermann Nitsch, and Rudolf Schwarzkogler. Others involved in the moment include Anni Brus, Heinz Cibulka and Valerie Export. Many of the Actionists have continued their artistic work independently of Viennese Actionism movement. Mike Kuchar
Mike Kuchar (born August 31, 1942 in New York City) is an American underground filmmaker, actor, and artist. Kuchar is notable for his low-budget and camp films such as '' Sins of the Fleshapoids'' and ''The Craven Sluck''. Biography Raised in The Bronx, he made his first films as a teenager in the 1950s with his twin brother George Kuchar and participated in New York’s underground film scene in the 1960s and 1970s. He divided his time between New York City and his brother's San Francisco apartment until 2007, when he moved to San Francisco permanently; George died in 2011. Mark Andrew Webber (born 14 September 1970 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire) is an English rock guitarist. He is most famous for playing in Pulp (since 1995), and appearing on all of their albums since their Mercury Music Prize-winning LP ''Different Class''. Webber first met the band in 1986 while producing a fanzine called ''Cosmic Pig''. He was originally the president of Pulp's fan club. Before joining the group Webber had helped make stage sets and was their tour manager. Webber's musical instruments include: Gretsch Viking guitar, Gibson ES-345, Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar, Gibson Firebird guitar, Yamaha acoustic, Fender Jazzmaster, and Rhodes Piano. James Benning (film Director)
James Benning (born 1942) is an American independent filmmaker and educator. Over the course of his 40-year career Benning has made over twenty-five feature-length films that have shown in many different venues across the world. Since 1987, he has taught at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). He is known as a minimalist filmmaker. Early life and education James Benning was born 1942 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Benning played baseball for the first twenty years of his life. He earned an undergraduate and master's degree in mathematics at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, which he attended on a baseball scholarship. Benning experienced a political awakening and racial consciousness during the late 1960s, participating in civil rights protests led by Father James Groppi in segregated Milwaukee. Eve Heller, born in 1961 in Amherst, Massachusetts, Amherst, is an American filmmaker based in Vienna, Austria. Her work has been shown at the New York Film Festival, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, Pacific Film Archives, the International Film Festival Rotterdam, the Louvre and the Austrian Film Museum. All of his work is done with film and heavily edited in the darkroom, rather than relying on recent advances in digital film. Peter Weibel
Peter Weibel (; born 5 March 1944 in Odessa, USSR) is an internationally known Austrian post-conceptual artist, curator and new media theoretician. He started out in 1964 as a visual poet but soon jumped from the page to the screen within the sense of post-structuralist methodology. Thanks to this linguistic input into his visual media works, Weibel developed a critical impulse that turned against society and the media, while investigating virtual reality and other digital art forms.
