Fresno Football Club was an American professional soccer team based in Fresno, California. Founded in 2017, the team was a member of the USL Championship, a second-tier league in the American Soccer Pyramid. Their first game took place on March 17, 2018. The team folded on October 29, 2019, after the ownership group was unable to secure construction of a soccer-specific stadium. On December 19, 2019, team ownership announced that it was searching for a new location in California for the 2021 USL Championship season. Chukchansi Park, formerly known as Grizzlies Stadium, is a city-owned baseball stadium located in Fresno, California, United States, completed in 2002 as the home for Minor League Baseball's Fresno Grizzlies. The first game was May 1, 2002. Located in downtown Fresno, it was designed to be an anchor in the rehabilitation of the area, as other commercial development is planned in the Central Business District Loop. Jaime Chavez (born July 17, 1987 in Industry, California, United States) is an American professional soccer player who plays for USL Championship club OKC Energy. Career Youth and amateur Chavez attended William Workman High School, and had a successful youth club career playing on winning teams in the Disney Cup, State Cup and Verizon Cup, among others. He played on Chivas USA's U-17 youth team in 2004 and 2005, and went on to play for various amateur teams in the Los Angeles area before signing for the Hollywood United Hitmen in the USL Premier Development League in 2009. Jemal Pierre Johnson (born May 3, 1985) is a former professional soccer player. In a 15-year career, he scored 53 goals in 391 league and cup appearances. He started his career at Premier League club Blackburn Rovers, making several appearances for the club between 2004 and 2006, having graduated through the club's academy.
