Fresh Film Festival
The Fresh Film Fest International Film Festival or Fresh Film Fest is an international student film festival held annually in August in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, first held in 2004. History The Fresh Film Fest is a successor of the CILECT festival that took place in Karlovy Vary during the 1980s, initially as an independent festival and subsequently as part of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF). Over the years the CILECT festival was attended by filmmakers including Jan Svěrák and Emir Kusturica. Fresh Film Festival was founded in 2004 by three students from the Film and TV School of The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU), as a competitive showcase of student films in the Czech Republic. The organizing team, consisting mostly of students from FAMU, presents public screenings of over 250 mainly student films each year, from various countries and genres. Corneliu Porumboiu
Corneliu Porumboiu (; born 14 September 1975) is a Romanian film director, screenwriter, and film producer. Life and education Corneliu Porumboiu was born in Vaslui, Vaslui County, Romania. He is the son of a former Romanian language teacher and a former football referee , currently a businessman. Between 1994 and 1998 he attended the faculty of Management at ASE University Bucharest. Febiofest
Prague International Film Festival - Febiofest is one of the largest film festivals in the Czech Republic and the second most prestigious festival in the country (after Karlovy Vary). The festival presents a wide spectrum of contemporary and retrospective examples of high-quality film including alternative, film-school and amateur works to a diverse viewing public. History The festival was founded in December 1993 in Prague by movie and television company Febiofest. The main personalities of the foundation were Fero Fenič and Pavel Melounek. Anifest
The International Festival of Animated Films AniFest was an international festival of animated films that was annually held in the Czech Republic from the years 2002 to 2013, when Anifest was merged with Anifilm. In the festivals prime, the event attracted more than twenty-thousand guests per year. The festival was a specialized competition of animated productions for film professionals, artists and animation lovers. In addition to the competitive and non-competitive film events, the festival included various theatre performances, exhibitions, concerts and discussions, parties and other cultural and social events.
