Frenchman Bay Road (also found as Frenchmans Bay Road) is a road that runs south from Albany, Western Australia. Commencing at an intersection with Princess Royal Drive at Mount Elphinstone, Western Australia, Mount Elphinstone it passes around the western and south side of the Princess Royal Harbour, through the suburbs of Robinson, Western Australia, Robinson and Little Grove, Western Australia, Little Grove. It enters into the Torndirrup National Park at Torndirrup, and through the park to Frenchman Bay, which lies in the open ocean area of the southern side of King George Sound. Princess Royal Drive
Princess Royal Drive is a road that follows the northern shore of Princess Royal Harbour in Albany, Western Australia. It is the harbour side end of York Street and runs parallel to Stirling Terrace for part of its route. It has a walkway pass over it from Stirling Terrace across to the Albany waterfront. It goes on the land side of the ANZAC Peace Park. It also runs south of the Albany railway station, closer to the harbour. Princess Royal Harbour is a part of King George Sound on the South coast of Western Australia, and harbour to Albany. On its northern shore is the Port of Albany. Torndirrup National Park
Torndirrup National Park is a national park in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, southeast of Perth and via Frenchman Bay Road is south of Albany. Torndirrup National Park has many impressive rock formations on the coast. These include the Gap, Natural Bridge and the Blowholes all shaped from the local granite. The park is along the coast on the west side of King George Sound and consists of a range of cliffs, gullies, blowholes, beaches and promontories. History The area is composed of three major rock types, one of these being gneiss. The oldest of these was formed 1300-1600 million years ago. This rock type can be seen along the cliff walls of the Gap. The granites were formed later as the Australian Plate collided with the Antarctic Plate 1160 million years ago as molten rock rose to the surface.
