Freizeit-Land Geiselwind
Freizeit-Land Geiselwind is an amusement park near Geiselwind, Germany. Covering 55 hectares, the park offers over 100 attractions, including 6 roller coasters. History The park was founded in 1969 by Ernst Mensinger under the name "Vogel-Pony-Märchenpark" (fairy tale park with birds and ponies). It was opened next to a newly buildt section of the Federal Motorway A3. In the beginning, the park had a focus on animals. Later, more and more amusement rides were added. For several decades Acapulco divers entertained the visitors. The new owner after the death of Mensinger in 2017 is Matthias Mölter. Top Of The World (ride)
Top of the World is the name of a fairground ride in Geiselwind, Germany. The 95-meter-high (312 ft) gyro tower is the tallest transportable amusement ride in the world, as well as the highest transportable observation tower. ''Top of the World'' is a so-called gyro tower, i.e. it has a circular gallery that is raised while rotating around the tower. The cabin can accommodate up to 132 people while being raised up to 72 meters. The tower was built for Finnendahl, a carny from Bremen, by the Dutch company Nauta-Bussink. In 1995, during its premiere at the Christmas Market in Berlin-Friedrichshain the cold caused an incident. Due to the cold the engine of the tower and the emergency brakes prevented the automatic rise and descent of the gondola, which then had to be lowered manually with a special machine. Enterprise (ride)
The Enterprise is an amusement ride, manufactured primarily by HUSS Park Attractions and Anton Schwarzkopf beginning in 1972. The HUSS ride was an adaptation and improvement of a design produced earlier that year by Schwarzkopf, with an increased passenger capacity. Despite not owning the original incarnation of the ride, HUSS was issued the patent. Although Schwarzkopf was the first to build the more standard Enterprise, the overall design was actually predated by another ride, the ''Passat'', which first opened in 1964. This is only considered a precursor, however, as the mechanism used to lift the arm up and down as well as the overall look of the ride is much different from a typical Enterprise. Funtime is an amusement ride manufacturer based in Dölsach, Austria. The company manufactures rides such as the Sling Shot, Star Flyer, and Vomatron. History In 1998, Funtime was established in the suburb of Bundall on the Gold Coast, Australia. Shortly after, the company opened a small amusement park in Surfers Paradise, a nearby Gold Coast suburb. At the time, the amusement park was known as Adrenalin Park and featured the company's Sling Shot and Vomatron rides. In 2010, Funtime threatened legal action against Dutch amusement ride manufacturer, Mondial, after that company unveiled the WindSeeker which bears similarities to Funtime's patented Star Flyer ride. The reverse bungee (also known as catapult bungee, slingshot, or ejection seat) is a modern type of fairground ride that was invented by Troy Griffin in c. 1978. The ride grew a following and is now one of the best known rides. Many installations also utilize a reverse-mounted camera that records passengers during their experience, typically available for purchase after completing the attraction. Reverse bungee rides operate at amusement parks and as stand-alone attractions. In Greek mythology, Auge (; Ancient Greek: Αὐγή 'sunbeam, daylight, dawn') was the daughter of Aleus the king of Tegea in Arcadia, and the virgin priestess of Athena Alea. She was also the mother of the hero Telephus by Heracles. Auge had sex with Heracles (either willingly, or by force) and was made pregnant. Reverchon Industries was a developer, designer and manufacturer of amusement park attractions that were sold all over the world. The company went into liquidation in September 2008, filing for bankruptcy and closing down their manufacturing and operations plant. Its production unit was set in the French village of Samois-sur-Seine, near Fontainebleau. Reverchon Industries is not to be confused with the companies “GRI” and “Reverchon Attraction”.
