Freel Peak
Freel Peak is a mountain located in the Carson Range, a spur of the Sierra Nevada, near Lake Tahoe in California. The peak is on the boundary between El Dorado County and Alpine County; and the boundary between the Eldorado National Forest and the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. At , it is the tallest summit in the Carson Range, El Dorado County, and the Tahoe Basin. Due to its elevation, most of the precipitation that falls on the mountain is snow. In 1893, the U.S. Geological Survey assigned the name Freel Peak to what was then known as Jobs Peak. James Freel was an early settler in the area. Climate According to the Köppen climate classification system, Freel Peak is located in an alpine climate zone. Humboldt–Toiyabe National Forest
The Humboldt–Toiyabe National Forest (HTNF) is the principal U.S. National Forest in the U.S. state of Nevada, and has a smaller portion in Eastern California. With an area of , it is the largest U.S. National Forest outside of Alaska. Hawkins Peak (California)
Hawkins Peak is a 10,024-foot-elevation (3,055 meter) mountain summit located in Alpine County, California, United States. Description This landmark of Hope Valley is set south of South Lake Tahoe, on land managed by Humboldt–Toiyabe National Forest. Hawkins Peak is situated in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, with precipitation runoff from the peak draining into tributaries of the West Fork Carson River. Jobs Sister is a mountain summit located near Lake Tahoe in northern California. Description Jobs Sister is situated on the common border that El Dorado County shares with Alpine County, as well as the boundary Eldorado National Forest shares with Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. It is set on the crest of the Carson Range which is a subset of the Sierra Nevada.
