Freedom Party (New Zealand)
The Freedom Party was a political party in New Zealand. It was founded by Gareth Turner and Paul King, formerly members of the ACT New Zealand party. The party was announced on 13 March 2005, the same day that Turner failed to unseat Catherine Judd as president of ACT. Sir Gareth (; Old French: ''Guerehet'', ''Guerrehet'') is a Knight of the Round Table in Arthurian legend. He is the youngest son of King Lot and Queen Morgause, King Arthur's half-sister, thus making him Arthur's nephew, as well as brother to Gawain, Agravain and Gaheris, and either a brother or half-brother of Mordred. Catherine Isaac is a past president of the New Zealand political party ACT, and managing director of Awaroa Partners. She was formerly director of JM Communications. Early life Isaac was raised in Christchurch and completed a BA in English and Languages at the University of Canterbury in 1970. She is the niece of Diana Isaac. Career Before politics Isaac was communications and public affairs manager for the National Provident Fund through its extensive restructuring from 1988 to 1991.
