Freebird Airlines (legally ''Hürkuş Hava Yolu Taşımacılık ve Ticaret A.Ş.''), a subsidiary of Gözen Holding, is an international airline registered in Turkey and Malta. Primarily focusing on European countries, it operates scheduled and charter flights to various holiday destinations. Its main base is Antalya Airport. History Freebird Airlines was established in 2000 and commenced its first commercial flight on 5 April 2001. Initially operating with a fleet of three McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft, the airline has expanded its operations and, as of 2024, flies to over 100 airports with a fleet of 14 Airbus A320s. It is subsidiary of Gözen Holding. The McDonnell Douglas MD-80 is a series of five-abreast single-aisle airliners developed by McDonnell Douglas. It was produced by the developer company until August 1997 and then by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The MD-80 was the second generation of the DC-9 family, originally designated as the DC-9-80 (DC-9 Series 80) and later stylized as the DC-9 Super 80 (short ''Super 80'').
