The Free Spirit World Tour is the fourth headlining concert tour by American singer Khalid, in support of his second studio album, ''Free Spirit'' (2019). It began on June 20, 2019 in Glendale at Gila River Arena. Background On April 1, 2019, the singer announced he will be going on his first ever arena tour to promote ''Free Spirit''. Dates were first announced in North America, with Clairo was announced as the opening act. On April 8, 2019, dates were announced for Europe and Oceania, with Mabel and RAYE announced as opening acts for Europe. ''Free Spirit'' is the second studio album by American singer Khalid, released on April 5, 2019, through RCA Records. It is the follow-up to his 2018 EP ''Suncity'', and includes the single "Talk". Khalid also announced a short film directed by Emil Nava to accompany the album, which was released on April 3. The album debuted at number one on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and received mixed reviews from music critics. Background Khalid announced the title on social media on February 28. The Hangout Music Festival (commonly referred to as Hangout Fest or Hangout) is an annual three-day music festival held on the white sand beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. The main stages are the Hangout Stage and the Surf Stage (located on opposite ends of the beach), as well as the Boom Boom Tent and more. Early life Kenneth Blume III was born and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut.
