Fredy Thompson
Fredy Williams Thompson León (born June 2, 1982 in Puerto Barrios, Izabal) is a Guatemalan former professional footballer. Club career Thompson started his career at Guatemalan giants Comunicaciones where he would stay for 7 years and captain the side. He then joined bitter rivals Municipal in 2007, but he was never accepted by the ''Rojos'' 'fans so he decided not to return after only one season. A move to Europe with Inter Milan or Manchester United, or American Major League Soccer had been mentioned for some time, but he joined Mexican side Albinegros in 2008, only to return to the ''Cremas'' in June 2008. Thompson signed for Universidad SC in January 2019. Doping case and suspension In February 2012, Thompson, alongside Comunicaciones teammates Adolfo Machado and Marvin Ceballos, was temporarily suspended from playing by FIFA after a positive test on the banned substance boldenone. Puerto Barrios
Puerto Barrios () is a city in Guatemala, located within the Gulf of Honduras. The city is located on Bahia de Amatique. Puerto Barrios is the departmental seat of Izabal department and is the administrative seat of Puerto Barrios municipality. It is Guatemala's main Caribbean Sea port, together with its more modern twin port town just to the southwest, Santo Tomás de Castilla. As of the 2018 census the population of Puerto Barrios was 100,593. Puerto Barrios is located northeast of Guatemala City. Listed below are the dates and results for the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification rounds for North, Central America and the Caribbean. A total of 34 teams took part (out of 35 eligible – only Puerto Rico declined to participate), competing for 3.5 places in the World Cup. The qualification process was divided in four stages. In the first stage, the 34 teams were divided in 10 groups of three teams each and two groups of two teams each. The Grenada national football team represents Grenada in international football and is controlled by the Grenada Football Association, a member of the Caribbean Football Union of CONCACAF. The CONCACAF qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup consisted of four rounds of competition, in which the 35 member nations competed for three automatic berths at the finals in Brazil.
