Fredrik Andersson Hed (20 January 1972 – 24 October 2021) was a Swedish professional golfer and broadcaster. He won the 2010 BMW Italian Open. Early life Andersson Hed was born in Halmstad on 20 January 1972. He began playing golf when he was ten years old and turned professional in 1992. Career Andersson Hed won his first title on the Challenge Tour only a year after turning pro at the inaugural Danish PGA Championship. He later won the Challenge de France held in Le Touquet in 2003. However, he found success hard to come by on the main European Tour, where he had to return to qualifying school on numerous occasions. Andersson Hed won his first European Tour title at the 2010 BMW Italian Open at Royal Park, outside Turin, on his 245th attempt. Two weeks later, he finished tied in second place, with Luke Donald, at the European Tour's flagship event, the 2010 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club. 2010 European Tour
The 2010 European Tour was the second edition of the Race to Dubai and the 39th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The season consisted of 47 tournaments, beginning with two events in December 2009 and culminating with the Dubai World Championship the following November. The schedule included the four major championships, four World Golf Championships and the Ryder Cup. The Race to Dubai was won by Germany's Martin Kaymer. Kaymer and U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell from Northern Ireland shared the Golfer of the Year award. Rikard Strångert
Rikard Strångert (born 23 April 1972) is a Swedish professional golfer, who was one of Sweden 's leading amateur golfers in the early 1990s. He was part of the team winning the 1992 European Youths' Team Championship and member of the Swedish team, finishing fifth, at the 1992 Eisenhower Trophy. As a professional he was runner-up at the 1993 Toyota PGA Championship on the Challenge Tour. Early life and amateur career In 1989, Strångert won the Swedish Teen Tour (up to 18) Order of Merit, despite losing in the final of the Swedish Boys 18 Match-play Championship. 18 years old, Strångert won the club championship at his home club, Linköping Golf Club, one of the leading elite clubs at the time in Sweden. David Horsey (golfer)
David Horsey (born 14 April 1985) is an English professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour. He has won four events on the tour between 2010 and 2015. Amateur career Horsey had a successful amateur career, which included winning the 2005 Greek Amateur Championship and finishing as runner-up in the 2004 English Amateur. He turned professional in 2007 after representing Great Britain and Ireland at the Walker Cup. Horsey appeared twice as an amateur at the Challenge Tour's Oceânico Developments Pro-Am Challenge, held near his home, finishing in a tie for 13th in 2007. The Swedish Junior Strokeplay Championship is a national golf tournament in Sweden for golfers under the age of 22, contested for both men and women. Known also as the JSM Slag, it has been organized by the Swedish Golf Federation since 1977 when JSM Match, the Swedish Junior Matchplay Championship contested since 1939, switched from match play to stroke play format. Omega European Masters
The Omega European Masters is the Swiss stop on professional men's golf's European Tour, and in 2009 it became the first event in Europe to be co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. Founded as the Swiss Open in 1923, the tournament was prefixed with European Masters in 1983, before dropping Swiss Open from the title in 1992.
