Fredrique Paijkull
Fredrika "Fredrique" Augusta Paijkull, née ''Broström'' (22 September 1836–1899) was a Swedish educator. She was a pioneer for the Folk high school in Sweden. She opened the first Folk high school for females in Sweden. Life Paijkull was born in Stockholm to lieutenant Carl Broström and Kerstin Schenson. She was raised at the manor Farhsta, as the neighbor of Fredrika Bremer. Paijkull was educated first by private teachers and then at the Wallinska skolan in Stockholm: from 1860 to 1862, she worked as a governess. In 1862, she married the pioneer of Folk high school in Sweden, the geologist and educator Baron Wilhelm Paijkull (1836-1869). Her spouse was appointed school inspector in Samuelsberg. After a trip to Denmark, Paijkull and her husband were equally impressed by the folk high school system in Denmark, and wished to introduce it in Sweden. Frédérique Petrides (pronounced peh TREE dis), (September 26, 1903 – January 12, 1983), was a Belgian-American conductor and violinist. In 1933, she founded and conducted the Orchestrette Classique in New York. It consisted of women musicians and premiered works by then relatively untried American composers, such as Paul Creston, Samuel Barber and David Diamond, that are now widely played and celebrated. Frédérique Papy-Lenger (August 12, 1921 – January 9, 2005) was a Belgian mathematician and mathematics educator active in the New Math movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Early life and education Frédérique Lenger was born on August 12, 1921 in Arlon, Belgium, one of three daughters of a lawyer. After studying classics in the Lycée Royal d’Arlon, she studied for a licentiate in mathematics at the Université libre de Bruxelles from 1939 to 1943. The University officially closed in 1941 to prevent its takeover by the German occupation, and her studies continued underground. Lambert is the current Canadian Champion in Women's Singles and Women's Doubles, and has won seven Canadian Championships: four in Women's Singles and three in Women's Doubles.
