Frederik Frison (born 28 July 1992) is a Belgian professional road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Career He rode first for the team, where he had some success in the first part of the 2015 season. He was then signed to the senior team as a ''stagiaire''; he rode races including the 2015 Tour of Britain and the 2015 Paris–Tours. In December 2015, he signed a professional contract to ride for from the 2016 season. Recognition In May 2018, he was named in the startlist for the 2018 Giro d'Italia. In August 2020, he was named in the startlist for the 2020 Tour de France. Personal life He is related through his father to former professional cyclist Herman Frison, who is his great uncle. Tour de l'Ain, also known as the Prix de l'Amitié, is an annual professional cycling stage race held in eastern France. The UCI Road World Championships – Men's under-23 time trial, Men's under-23 time trial of the 2014 UCI Road World Championships took place in and around Ponferrada, Spain on 22 September 2014. The course of the race was with the start and finish in Ponferrada. The world title was won by Australia's Campbell Flakemore – who finished fourth in the event in 2013 UCI Road World Championships, 2013 – and in the process, became the fourth Australian rider in the last six years to win the title. Flakemore completed the course just 0.48 seconds quicker than the silver medallist Ryan Mullen of the Republic of Ireland, while the bronze medal was taken by Swiss rider Stefan Küng, 9.22 seconds behind Flakemore. General Classification In The Giro D'Italia
The general classification in the Giro d'Italia is the most important classification of the Giro d'Italia, which determines who is the overall winner. It is therefore considered more important than secondary classifications as the points classification or the mountains classification. Since 1931, the leader of the general classification is identified by a pink jersey ( it, maglia rosa ). Prior to that year and since the creation of the race, no colour was used to distinguish the winner at the top of the classification. The first rider to wear the maglia rosa was Learco Guerra following the first stage of the 1931 Giro d'Italia. The first jersey was entirely pink and made from wool. It had a roll-neck collar and front pockets. As Italy was under Fascist Party rule there was a gray shield stitched onto the shirt, a symbol for the party. Grand Tour (cycling)
In road bicycle racing, a Grand Tour is one of the three major European professional cycling stage races: Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, and Vuelta a España. Collectively they are termed the ''Grand Tours'', and all three races are similar in format, being three-week races with daily stages. They have a special status in the UCI regulations: more points for the UCI World Tour are distributed in Grand Tours than in other races, and they are the only stage races allowed to last longer than 14 days. All three races have a substantial history, with the Tour de France first held in 1903, Giro d'Italia first held in 1909 and the Vuelta a España first held in 1935. Grand Prix Impanis-Van Petegem
The GP Impanis-Van Petegem (also known as the Primus Classic) is a single-day road bicycle race held annually since 1982 in the region of Flemish Brabant, Belgium. The race was originally organized as a tribute to Raymond Impanis in and around Kampenhout and known as the GP Impanis. Between 1995 and 2004, the race was no longer organized, only to be reinstated in 2005 as a race only for juniors (under 21). In 2011, the race was again organised for professional cyclists and upgraded to a 1.2 event on the UCI Europe Tour. It was also renamed to GP Impanis-Van Petegem in honor of Peter Van Petegem. Since then, the race has started near Brakel, the birthplace of Van Petegem, and has finished close to Kampenhout, namely in Haacht. Le Samyn is an annual single-day road bicycle race in Belgium, held usually in late February or early March. The event was created in 1968 as ''Grand Prix de Fayt-le-Franc'', named after the former municipality where it started and finished. In 1970 it was renamed ''Grand Prix José Samyn'' as a tribute to José Samyn, the race's first winner who died in a race accident in 1969. Johan Capiot holds the record with three wins.
