Frederik Christian Rosenkrantz (1724–1802)
Frederik Christian Rosenkrantz (January 19, 1724 - May 15, 1802) was a Danish noble, statesman and a wealthy landowner. Background Frederik Christian Rosenkrantz was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was the son of Privy Iver Rosenkrantz (1674–1745) and Charlotte Amalie Skeel (1700-63). Frederik Christian Rosenkrantz became a varlet de chambre (''kammerjunker'') in 1741 and a chamberlain in 1748. In 1749, he was appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Denmark, a position he held until 1771. Likewise, he was released from the court in 1749 when he was appointed into envoyé extraordinaire for the Prussian court and in 1751 by the English court. In 1760 he was appointed as a Knight of the Dannebrog. Count, Lensgreve Johann Friedrich Struensee (5 August 1737 – 28 April 1772) was a German-Danish physician, philosopher and statesman. He became royal physician to the mentally ill King Christian VII of Denmark and a minister in the Danish government. Ryegaard
Ryegaard is a manor house and estate in Lejre Municipality, Denmark. Ryegaard and neighbouring Trudsholm have been owned by the Rosenkrantz/Skeel families since the year 1735. The two estates add up to a combined area of 1,228 hectares. History Lunge family 13301421 The estate traces its history back to the middle of the 14th century. The first Ruegaard was located in the no longer existing of village of Rue (Ryeby), just west of the still existing Rye Church. The estate first mentioned in 1350, when Folmer Jakobsen Lunge acquired it from the Crown in exchange for his holdings in Hammer and Bårse. The next owner was his brother Jakob Olufsen Lunge (died 1387), a member of the privy council. After his death, ownership was divided between his four children (Oluf Anders, Regitze and Folmer). North Zealand
North Zealand, also North Sealand ( da, Nordsjælland), refers to the northern part of the Danish island of Zealand which is not clearly defined but generally covers the area north of Copenhagen. Rosenholm Castle
Rosenholm Castle ( da, Rosenholm Slot) is Denmark's oldest family-owned castle. It is located on Djursland, north of Hornslet and northeast of Aarhus. It is one of the best-preserved complexes from the golden age of the manor house – from 1550 to 1630. History The manor Holm is known from the 14th century. It was owned by the Catholic Church, but at the Reformation in 1536 it came in possession of The Crown. King Frederick II exchanged it for some other estates owned by Danish nobleman and diplomat Jørgen Ottesen Rosenkrantz (1523-1596). Rosenholm Slot (Syddjurs Kommune)
Until 1 January 2007 Rosenholm municipality was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the former Aarhus County on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark just north of Aarhus and is more or less a suburb today. The municipality covered an area of 141 km2, and had a total population of 10.325 (2005). Its last mayor was Richard Volander, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Hornslet. Rosenholm municipality ceased to exist as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Ebeltoft, Midtdjurs, and Rønde municipalities to form the new Syddjurs municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 693 km2 and a total population of 40,196 (2005).
