Fredericia–Aarhus Railway Line
The Fredericia–Aarhus railway line ( da, Fredericia–Aarhus Jernbane) is a long standard-gauge double-track railway line in Denmark which runs between the cities of Fredericia and Aarhus in East Jutland. It constitutes a section of the East Jutland longitudinal railway line ( da, Den Østjyske Længdebane), the through route along the east coast of the Jutland Peninsula from the German border at Padborg to the port city of Frederikshavn in North Jutland. The railway opened in 1868. The line is owned and maintained by Rail Net Denmark and served with passenger trains by the railway companies DSB and Arriva. Future As part of plans for high-speed rail in Denmark, a new section of track between Hovedgård and Hasselager, bypassing Skanderborg, is planned. Horsens railway station ( da, Horsens Station or ''Horsens Banegård'') is a railway station serving the town of Horsens in East Jutland metropolitan area, East Jutland, Denmark. Skanderborg
Skanderborg is a town in Skanderborg municipality, Denmark. Hovedgård
Hovedgård is a town in East Jutland with a population of 2,327 (2023), located in the Central Jutland Region, part of Horsens Municipality. The town is located in Ørridslev Parish. Previously, Hovedgård was a railway town between Skanderborg and Horsens. The town is in all probability named after the manor of Great Hovedgård which is close by. Inside the town you will find Tornbjerg Wood. A few kilometers to the southwest is Ørridslev church, which dates from the 12th century. High-speed Rail In Denmark
The first high-speed railway in Denmark was the Copenhagen–Ringsted Line, completed in late 2018 and opened in 2019. Further high-speed lines are currently under planning. As a part of a long-term green plan for transportation in Denmark in December 2008, the government at the time presented a high-speed strategy for the inter-city train traffic, called ''The Hour Model'' (Danish: ''Timemodellen''). The strategy contains bringing down the travel time on the three links that connect the four largest cities of Denmark (Copenhagen-Odense-Aarhus-Aalborg) to one hour, thereby decreasing the total travel time between Copenhagen and Aalborg from approximately 4½ hours to 3 hours.
