''Freddy and the Millionaire'' (german: Freddy und der Millionär, it, La Signorina Miliardo) is a 1961 Italian-West German musical film directed by Paul May and starring Freddy Quinn, Heinz Erhardt and Grit Boettcher. It was shot at the Baldham Studios in Bavaria and on location in Ischia. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Werner Achmann and Rolf Zehetbauer. Paul May
Paul May (8 May 1909 – 25 February 1976) was a German film director and editor. He directed 40 films between 1935 and 1972. Biography He was the son of Peter Ostermayr, a film producer with Universum Film AG, and his wife Olga, ''née'' Wernhard. After secondary school in Feldkirch, he entered to film industry and trained in film laboratory work. He became a film editor in 1930 and assistant director in 1935. His first film as director was ''Edelweißkönig'', in 1938. After the Second World War, he adopted the pseudonym Paul May. His greatest successes were '' 08/15'' (1954), ''The Forests Sing Forever'' (1959), ''Via Mala'' (1961) from the book by John Knittel, and ''Scotland Yard Hunts Dr. Mabuse'' (1963) with Peter van Eyck. He also directed for television. He directed more than forty films between 1935 and 1972. Giustino Durano (5 May 1923 – 18 February 2002) was an Italian actor best known for his work as Eliseo Orefice in the 1997 film ''Life Is Beautiful.'' For his role, he was nominated in part for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast. ''Life Is Beautiful'' The movie is centered on his nephew Guido and his son Giosuè. In the movie, he is the head waiter of a hotel dining room. As racial turmoil begins erupting in Italy against Jews, the waiter, his nephew and the nephew's son are taken to a concentration camp. While at the camp, he was separated from his nephew and later killed in a gas chamber along with several other elderly people. Death Durano died in 2002 after a long battle with cancer. Claus Wilcke (born 12 August 1939, in Bremen) is a German actor who has played Americans in the German TV shows ''Percy Stuart'' and ''I.O.B. Spezialauftrag''.
