Fred Mitchell Outstanding Place Kicker Award
The annual Fred Mitchell Outstanding Place-Kicker Award (also known as the Fred Mitchell Award) is provided to the nation’s top collegiate place-kicker among more than 750 Football Championship Subdivision, FCS, NCAA Division II, Division II, NCAA Division III, III, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, NAIA and National Junior College Athletic Association, NJCAA football teams. The award is named for Fred B. Mitchell , Fred Mitchell, the record-setting place-kicker, Wittenberg University Athletic Hall of Famer, author, philanthropist and ''Chicago Tribune'' sports columnist. The NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A, is the highest level of college football in the United States. Cole Tracy
Cole Tracy (born May 2, 1996) is a former American football placekicker. He played college football for Assumption and LSU, and was named second-team All-American in 2018. Early life and education Tracy was born on May 2, 1996, in Camarillo, California. He attended Newbury Park High School, playing football and soccer, starting three years in football. Following high school Tracy went to Assumption University in Worcester, Massachusetts, redshirting as a true freshman. As a redshirt-freshman the following year, Tracy led Division II kickers with 117 points that included 22 field goals made, 51-of-53 extra-point chances and a season-long field goal of 52 yards. Kevin Butler (American Football)
Kevin Gregory Butler (born July 24, 1962) is an American former professional football player who was a placekicker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs, and then played in the NFL for the Chicago Bears (1985–1995) and the Arizona Cardinals (1996–1997). Since retiring, he has continued his affiliation with the University of Georgia as a special teams assistant and the cohost of the Budweiser Fifth Quarter Show on 106.1 WNGC and 960 WRFC in Athens. Tom Beck (American Football)
Tom Beck (born December 21, 1940) is a former American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Illinois Benedictine College—now Benedictine University—from 1970 to 1974, Elmhurst College from 1976 to 1983, and Grand Valley State University from 1985 to 1990. During his college football head coaching career, he compiled a 137–52–1 record, a .724 winning percentage. All three institutions where Beck coached had historically losing teams before he turned them into nationally ranked programs. The James Madison Dukes football program represents James Madison University in the sport of American football.
