Fred Lucas (footballer)
Frederick Charles Lucas (29 September 1933 – 11 September 2015) was an English footballer who played as a wing half and inside forward in the Football League, primarily for Charlton Athletic. He was a good all-round sportsman and played two first-class cricket matches for Kent County Cricket Club in 1954. Slade Green
Slade Green is an area of South East London, England, within the London Borough of Bexley. It lies northeast of Bexleyheath, northwest of Dartford and south of Erith, and east-southeast of Charing Cross. Historically Slade Green was part of the county of Kent. In 1965 it became part of the new ceremonial county of Greater London. Derek Ufton
Derek Gilbert Ufton (31 May 1928 – 27 March 2021) was an English professional cricketer and footballer, and later a football manager. Playing professionally for Kent County Cricket Club as a wicket-keeper and Charlton Athletic Football Club, Ufton won a single international cap for the England national football team in 1953. He went on to manage Plymouth Argyle. John Ryan (footballer, Born 1930)
John Ryan (16 October 1930 – 12 August 2008) was a Scottish professional footballer who played 61 league games for Charlton Athletic, scoring 32 goals. He is most famous for scoring the winning goal in Charlton's 7–6 win over Huddersfield Town in the Second Division at The Valley, 21 December 1957, the only game in professional football in which a team has scored six times and still lost the game. What was even more remarkable about the game was that Charlton had 10 men for 73 minutes of the match and were 5–1 down with 27 minutes remaining. Ryan scored the winning goal past keeper Sandy Kennon with one minute remaining. In the United Kingdom, military conscription has existed for two periods in modern times. The first was from 1916 to 1920, and the second from 1939 to 1960.
