Fred L. Feierstein
Fred L. Feierstein (May 7, 1903 – October 29, 1945) was an American farmer, businessman, and politician. Born in the town of Belgium in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, Feierstein owned a cheese factory, restaurant and bus stop, and was in the real estate business. He served as town clerk for the town of Belgium. Feierstein then lived in the town of Fredonia where he owned and operated the restaurant and bus stop. Ozaukee County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 91,503. Its county seat is Port Washington, making it one of three Wisconsin counties on Lake Michigan not to have a county seat with the same name. Ozaukee County is included in the Milwaukee– Waukesha–West Allis, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fredonia is a town in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,903 at the 2000 census. The Village of Fredonia is surrounded by the town. The unincorporated communities of Little Kohler and Waubeka are also located in the town. History The land that became the Fredonia was originally inhabited by Native Americans, including the Potawatomi tribe, who surrendered the land to the United States government in 1833 through the 1833 Treaty of Chicago. While many Native people moved west of the Mississippi River to Kansas, some chose to remain, and were referred to as "strolling Potawatomi" in contemporary documents because many of them were migrants who subsisted by squatting on their ancestral lands, which were now owned by white settlers. The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin.
