Fred Jackson (American Football Coach)
Fred Jackson (born June 9, 1950) is an American football coach and former player. He is an offensive analyst and interim running backs coach at the University of Michigan. He previously coached at Michigan from 1992 to 2014. In 2014, he was the longest tenured member of the Michigan Wolverines football coaching staff, having served on the staffs of Gary Moeller, Lloyd Carr, Rich Rodriguez, and Brady Hoke. In addition to coaching running backs, Jackson served as Michigan's offensive coordinator (1995–1996), assistant head coach (1997–2002), and associate head coach (2003–2007). He was a finalist for the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's top college football assistant coach, in 2000. After Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr retired following the 2007 season, Jackson was the only member of the coaching staff retained by Carr's successor, Rich Rodriguez. Fred Jackson (saxophonist)
Fred Jackson (born 1929) is an American rhythm and blues and jazz tenor saxophonist. Career Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Jackson began his career as an R&B saxophonist. He performed in Little Richard's band from 1951 until 1953. Jackson also accompanied vocalist Billy Wright, appearing on several recordings for Savoy Records. Later in the decade, he joined vocalist Lloyd Price's band, performing in concert tours during a peak in Price's popularity. Jackson also served as the bandleader for vocalist Chuck Willis. In 1961, Jackson recorded with B.B. King. Jackson began making jazz recordings during the early 1960s, accompanying soul jazz organists such as John Patton and Baby Face Willette on several Blue Note albums. In 1962, he recorded one album, '' Hootin' 'n Tootin''', under his own name for Blue Note. (The album's organist, Earl Van Dyke, later joined the Funk Brothers at Motown.) Frederick Anthony Jackson (born October 2, 1956) is an American singer. Originally from New York, Jackson began his professional music career in the late 1970s with the California funk band Mystic Merlin.
