Fred Dawes
Frederick W. Dawes (2 May 1911 – 12 August 1989) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League as a defender for Northampton Town and Crystal Palace. He also managed Crystal Palace and was the younger brother of Albert Dawes, who also played professionally for Crystal Palace and Northampton. Playing career Dawes began his youth career with Aldershot and, in 1929, signed for Northampton Town, where his older brother Albert was also a player. Between then and 1936, Dawes made 162 League appearances for the club, scoring once. In February 1936, Dawes signed for Crystal Palace, once again re-joining his older brother who had moved to Palace in 1933, and immediately established himself in the side being ever-present for the remainder of that season and throughout the 1936–37 season. Frimley Green
Frimley Green is a large village and ward of in the Borough of Surrey Heath in Surrey, England, approximately southwest of central London. It is south of the town of Frimley. Lakeside Country Club was the national venue for the BDO international darts competition. It was played yearly in the village between 1986 and 2019. The nearest railway stations are Frimley on the line between Ascot and Aldershot, Farnborough North on the North Downs Line and Farnborough (Main) on the South West Main Line. Brentford F
Brentford is a suburban town in West London, England and part of the London Borough of Hounslow. It lies at the confluence of the River Brent and the Thames, west of Charing Cross. Football Association
The Football Association (also known as The FA) is the governing body of association football in England and the Crown Dependencies of Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. Formed in 1863, it is the oldest football association in the world and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the amateur and professional game in its territory. The FA facilitates all competitive football matches within its remit at national level, and indirectly at local level through the county football associations. In professional sports, scouts are experienced talent evaluators who travel extensively for the purposes of watching athletes play their chosen sports and determining whether their set of skills and talents represent what is needed by the scout's organization. Ronnie Rooke
Ronald Leslie Rooke (7 December 1911 – 9 June 1985) was an English footballer who played as a centre forward. During his three decades' playing career he scored at least 931 goals in 1029 official matches, among which more than 765 league goals at all levels. According to the RSSSF he is the best league goalscorer of all time, and the third overall behind Erwin Helmchen and Josef Bican. Playing career Rooke was born in Guildford, Surrey, and began his playing career with local club Guildford City. He then had a spell with Woking in 1932–33 during which he scored 29 goals from 16 appearances in all competitions. In 1933, he joined Crystal Palace, who were at the time in the Third Division South. He played mainly for the Palace reserve side, only playing eighteen league matches and scoring six goals between 1933 and 1936. Albert Dawes
Albert George Dawes (23 April 1907 – 23 June 1973) was an English professional footballer who played for Northampton Town and Crystal Palace as a forward. He also played one first-class cricket game for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club against Derbyshire in 1933. Albert's younger brother was Fred Dawes, who also played professionally for both Crystal Palace and Northampton Town. Playing career Dawes began his playing career with Northampton Town in 1929 and over four seasons made 184 overall appearances for the club, scoring 103 goals. In December 1933, he signed for Crystal Palace as replacement for Peter Simpson who was injured at that time. Dawes went on to make 105 League appearances in his first spell with Palace scoring 75 times. The 1935–36 season was his most successful scoring 38 times, heading the Division Three South list of goal-scorers and receiving a call-up to the England team.
