Fred Calvin Maples
Fred Calvin Maples (1910 – February 28, 1987) was an American Southern gospel singer and Baptist minister. He was the founder of the Harmoneers Quartet in the 1940s. He later served as the minister of music and education at Pinecrest Baptist Church in Lilburn, Georgia. Lilburn is a city in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States. The population was 14,502 at the 2020 census. The estimated population was 12,810 in 2019. It is a part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Geography Lilburn is located in western Gwinnett County at (33.888853, -84.140897). U.S. Route 29 (Lawrenceville Highway) passes through the center of town, leading southwest to downtown Atlanta and northeast to Lawrenceville, the Gwinnett County seat. Southern Gospel Museum And Hall Of Fame
The Southern Gospel Music Association (''SGMA'') is a non-profit corporation formed as an association of southern gospel music singers, songwriters, fans, and industry workers. Membership is acquired and maintained through payment of annual dues. The SGMA was formed in 1994, and states that its primary goal is "to preserve, protect and promote Southern Gospel Music, its history and heritage". The Southern Gospel Music Association operates the Southern Gospel Museum and Hall of Fame in Pigeon Forge, a popular Tennessee tourist town, and also hosts the Southern Gospel Music Awards. The Hall of Fame and Museum was opened at the Dollywood theme park in 1999. Leadership of the SGMA is vested in a 23-member board of directors.
