Harry Frazee
Harry Herbert Frazee (June 29, 1880 – June 4, 1929) was an American theatrical agent, producer, and director, and owner of Major League Baseball's Boston Red Sox from 1916 to 1923. He is well known for selling Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees, which started the alleged Curse of the Bambino. Early life Harry Frazee was born June 29, 1880, in Peoria, Illinois, son of William and Margaret Frazee. He attended Peoria High School, where he was a baseball teammate of Harry Bay, who later played for Major League Baseball teams in Cincinnati and Cleveland. At 16, Frazee became assistant manager of the Peoria Theater. Within a year, he was player-coach of the Peoria Distillers semi-pro baseball club. As his theatrical endeavors continued, Frazee moved to Chicago, where he built the Cort Theater in 1907. Jeff Frazee
Jeffrey James Frazee (born May 13, 1987) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender. He last played for HDD Olimpija Ljubljana of the Austrian Hockey League. He played one game in the National Hockey League with the New Jersey Devils during the 2012–13 season. Early life Frazee was born in Edina, Minnesota, but grew up in Burnsville, Minnesota. Playing career He was drafted in the second round, 38th overall, by the New Jersey Devils in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. In Frazee's freshman and sophomore seasons at the University of Minnesota, he played in 32 games, compiling a 20-6-3 record. At the end of the 2007-08 hockey season, Frazee joined the Lowell Devils. He played in one game, making 22 saves in his AHL debut against the Worcester Sharks. Marla Frazee (born January 16, 1958) is an American author and illustrator of children's literature. She has won two Caldecott Honors for picture book illustration. Early life and college Frazee was born in Los Angeles, California and moved to Glendale, California, during her childhood. She is of Lebanese descent. Frazee found her early inspiration in children's books such as Maurice Sendak's '' Where the Wild Things Are'' and Robert McCloskey's '' Blueberries for Sal''. She illustrated her first book in third grade, which was called ''The Friendship Circle''. After it won an award in a state fair competition, Frazee created a duplicate for her school library. It was Frazee's first book. She attended college in the Greater Los Angeles Area, where she earned her bachelor of fine arts at Art Center College of Design and graduated in 1981. Rowland Cardwell Frazee, (May 12, 1921 – July 29, 2007) was a Canadian banker and former chairman and chief executive officer of the Royal Bank of Canada from 1979 to 1986. Biography Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at age five, the family moved to St. Stephen, New Brunswick where his father had been appointed bank manager. At age eighteen, Rowland Frazee went to work as a clerk at his father's branch but following the outbreak of World War II he enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1941 serving overseas with The Carleton and York Regiment, First Canadian Infantry Division, with whom he participated in the July 1943 allied landings in Sicily. Wounded on three occasions, Frazee distinguished himself in the Italian campaign and in northwest Europe. At the time of his decommissioning in 1945 he held the rank of Major.
