Fratel
The Fratellis are a Scottish Rock music, rock band from Glasgow, formed in 2005. The band consists of three unrelated members, who perform under pseudonyms: lead vocalist and guitarist Jon Fratelli, bassist Barry Fratelli, and drummer Mince Fratelli. Their singles "Chelsea Dagger" and "Whistle for the Choir" were both top ten hits in the UK charts. History 2005–2006: ''The Fratellis EP'' and ''Costello Music'' The band's name came from the criminal family in ''The Goonies'' and received their first radio playing in 2005, on central Scotland's Beat 106 (later XFM Scotland, now Capital Scotland) Beatscene show hosted by Jim Gellatly. Jon Fratelli
Jon Fratelli (born John Paul Lawler; 4 March 1979) is a Scottish musician and singer-songwriter, best known for his work with the band The Fratellis. Alongside his work with The Fratellis, Lawler has played in a band called Codeine Velvet Club and as a solo artist. Early years Lawler hails from Cumbernauld, but later moved to Glasgow. He attended St. Maurice's High School and went to college before dropping out within three hours. Before joining the Fratellis, he played in various bands including an Oasis and Blur covers band. Costello Music
''Costello Music'' is the debut album by Scottish indie rock band the Fratellis. It was released on 11 September 2006 on Fallout Records and Drop the Gun Recordings and on 13 March 2007 on Cherrytree Records in the US and was a success, peaking at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and spent 83 weeks in the Top 100. It debuted behind ''FutureSex/LoveSounds'' by Justin Timberlake and stayed in the No. 2 position for two more weeks, this time behind ''Ta-Dah'' by Scissor Sisters. The album had five single releases, as well as the download-only EP '' Flathead''. "Chelsea Dagger" was the most successful single, peaking at No. 5 in the UK and No. 4 in the Netherlands, but the other singles failed to chart in most countries. "Baby Fratelli" is a song by Scottish rock band the Fratellis, release as the fifth single from their debut album, ''Costello Music'' (2006). It was released on 12 March 2007, in CD, 7-inch vinyl, and DVD single formats. A limited edition USB stick was later released, containing a weblink to an exclusive documentary as well as a competition to see the Fratellis in New York City on 23 March 2007. 7,000 copies of the USB stick format were sold, although this format isn't chart-eligible. The song was written by the band's lead singer, John Lawler. ''Time'' magazine named "Baby Fratelli" one of "The 10 Best Songs of 2007", ranking it at number 10. The Goonies

"Chelsea Dagger" is a song by Scottish rock band the Fratellis. It was released as the second single from their debut studio album, ''Costello Music'' (2006), on 28 August 2006. It is named after Jon Fratelli's wife Heather, a burlesque dancer whose stage name – a play on Britney Spears – he borrowed for the song. Fratelli described the tune as "a rock 'n' roll gig in an old speakeasy or something like that." This song was number 77 on ''Rolling Stone's'' list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007. Whistle For The Choir
"Whistle for the Choir" is a song by Scottish rock band the Fratellis. It was released on 27 November 2006 as the band's third single and reached number nine on the UK Singles Chart, marking their second UK top-10 single. In the band's native Scotland, the song reached number two, becoming their second song to reach that position after "Chelsea Dagger". The working title for the song was "Knickers in a Handbag", named after a line from Scottish comedian Billy Connolly. The artwork points toward the old name by showing a girl on the cover handling a pair of knickers above a handbag. The wistful song is the most light-hearted and sentimental of the entire album Costello Music and has drawn comparison to What Katie Did (song) by The Libertines Music video The video shows the band singing on darkened streets. Codeine Velvet Club
Codeine Velvet Club was a Scottish alternative rock band formed in 2009 by Lou Hickey and Jon Lawler, while Lawler's band The Fratellis were taking a hiatus after their second album '' Here We Stand''. Codeine Velvet Club's sole album, their self titled debut album was released on 28 December 2009 in the UK and on 6 April 2010 in the US. After releasing their album and playing a string of live dates, in early 2010 it was announced the band would not continue beyond their scheduled tour dates. After the band disbanded, Lawler took the backing band to work on a solo project and Hickey returned to her solo career.
