Sami Frashëri
Sami bey Frashëri ( tr, Şemseddin Sami Bey; June 1, 1850 – June 18, 1904) or Şemseddin Sâmi was an Ottoman Albanian writer, philosopher, playwright and a prominent figure of the ''Rilindja Kombëtare'', the National Renaissance movement of Albania, together with his two brothers Abdyl and Naim. He also supported Turkish nationalism against its Ottoman counterpart, along with secularism ( anti-clericalism or laicism) against theocracy. Frashëri was one of the sons of an impoverished Bey from Frashër (Fraşer during the Ottoman rule) in the District of Përmet. He gained a place in Ottoman literature as a talented author under the name of Şemseddin Sami Efendi and contributed to the Ottoman Turkish language reforms. Naim Frashëri
Naim bey Frashëri, more commonly Naim Frashëri (; ; 25 May 184620 October 1900), was an Albanian historian, journalist, poet, rilindas and translator who was proclaimed as the national poet of Albania. He is regarded as the pioneer of modern Albanian literature and one of the most influential Albanian cultural icons of the 19th century. Naim and his brothers Abdyl and Sami were born and raised in the village of Frashër at the southern slopes of the Tomorr Mountains. He became acquainted with numerous cultures and languages such as Arabic, Ancient and Modern Greek, French, Italian, Ottoman Turkish and Persian. Abdyl Frashëri
Abdyl Dume bey Frashëri ( tr, Fraşerli Abdül Bey; 1 June 1839 – 23 October 1892) was an Ottoman Albanian civil servant, politician during the First Constitutional Era of the Ottoman Empire, and one of the first Albanian political ideologues of the Albanian National Awakening. During his lifetime Frashëri endeavoured to instill among Albanians patriotism and a strong identity while promoting a reform program based on Albanian language education and literature. He was one of the initiators and a prominent leader of the League of Prizren. He distinguished himself as a political personality from the 1860s through early political assignments. He founded the Central Committee for Defending Albanian Rights in Istanbul. Mehdi bey Frashëri (28 February 1872 – 25 May 1963) was an Albanian intellectual and politician. He served as Prime Minister of Albania in the 1930s and as Chairman of the Provisional Administration Committee in the Albanian puppet government under Nazi Germany. Frashër (; sq-definite, Frashëri; rup, Farshar) is a village and a former municipality in the Gjirokastër County, southern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Përmet. The population at the 2011 census was 387. The municipal unit consists of the villages Frashër, Zavalan, Ogren-Kostrec, Gostivisht, Miçan, Vërçisht, Kreshovë and Soropull. Dalip Frashëri
Dalip bey Frashëri, also known with the pen-name Hyxhretiu (the exiled), was an Albanian Bektashi sheikh and bejtexhi of the 19th century. His poem ''Kopshti i te mirevet'' (Garden of the martyrs) is the first and the longest epic known in the Albanian literature. Life Dalip was born in Frashër, Janina Vilayet, Ottoman Empire. A dervish originating in a family with strong Bektashi roots, and played an important part in the local ''tekke'' there. He was the son of Kaso Frashëri, and brother of poet Shahin Frashëri and despite what is believed, it appears that they were not relatives with brothers Naim, Sami, and Abdyl Frashëri. Eshref Effendy Frasheri (October 15, 1874 – October 17, 1938), also referred to as Eshtref Bey Frashëri, was an Albanian politician. He served as co-Chairman of the National Council of Albania from 1921 until 1923 and Deputy Chairman 1932-1938. Life Born in Korçë, in southern Albania, he studied Construction Engineering in Istanbul and in 1914 became member of the Albanian patriotic club there. Shahin Frashëri was an Albanian bejtexhi of the 19th century. His ''Mukhtarnameh'' poem is one of the longest and earliest epics in Albanian literature. Gaqo Adhamidhi (1859–1939), also referred to as Adhamidh Frashëri, was an Albanian physician and political figure during the early 20th century.
