François Parisien
François Parisien (born 27 April 1982) is a former professional cyclist born in Repentigny, Quebec, Canada. He competed as a professional between 2006 and 2013. Professional career In 2005, Parisien won the Canadian Road Race Championship. He participated to the 2010 Tour of California and placed in the ''top ten'' on the second stage where he came in sixth position, finishing in the same group as Australian Brett Lancaster who won the stage. He performed well the very next day on the undulating stage 3, ranking in a ninth position as he was part of a small group of about 30 riders that came in after 3 escapees crossed the line, the victor being David Zabriskie (). In 2012, he won the Tour of Elk Grove Overall classification by the slim margin of one second over John Murphy of the Kenda-5-hour Energy team. Repentigny, Quebec
Repentigny () is an off-island suburb of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located north of the city on the lower end of the L'Assomption River, and on the Saint Lawrence River. Repentigny and Charlemagne were the first towns off the eastern tip of the Island of Montreal. Repentigny is part of the Lanaudière region. History It was founded in 1670 by Jean-Baptiste Le Gardeur, son of Seigneur Pierre Le Gardeur. During the town's first 250 years, Repentigny was only inhabited by a few hundred peasants, or habitants, and was an agricultural community. In 1677, the first population census only shows 30 inhabitants. Its first mayor was Benjamin Moreau 1855. Repentigny merged with its neighbouring city of Le Gardeur on June 1, 2002. An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). Tour de Beauce is a men's elite professional road bicycle racing multi-day event held each June in the Beauce region of Quebec, Canada since 1986. It is the oldest stage-race in North America, and is a Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)-rated 2.2 continental circuit stage race on the UCI America Tour.
