François Louis, Count Of Harcourt
François Louis de Lorraine (1623 – 27 June 1694) was a member of the House of Lorraine. He was Count of Harcourt. He was also the Count of Rieux, Rochefort and Montlaur. He was also Marquis of Maubec as well as the Baron of Aubenas. Biography François Marie was born to Charles II, Duke of Elbeuf and his wife Catherine Henriette de Bourbon, ''Légitimée de France'', legitimised daughter of Henry IV of France and Gabrielle d'Estrées. Aulochrome
The aulochrome is a woodwind instrument invented by Belgian François Louis and first prototyped in 1999. It consists of two soprano saxophones that can be played either separately or together. The name comes from Greek ''aulos'' (name of the most important ancient Greek musical instrument) and ''chrome'' (for chromatic and colored). The first user of this instrument was saxophonist Fabrizio Cassol, and Joe Lovano has recently recorded with it as well. Composer Philippe Boesmans wrote a work for aulochrome and orchestra, ''Fanfare III'', which was premiered in 2002 by Cassol and conductor Sylvain Cambreling Sylvain Cambreling (born 2 July 1948 in Amiens, France) is a French conductor. François Louis Bourdon (11 January 1758 – 22 June 1798), also known as Bourdon de l'Oise, was a French politician of the Revolutionary period and ''procureur'' at the ''parlement'' of Paris. Biography Born in Rouy-le-Petit ( Somme), he was from early on an advocate of revolutionary doctrines, and took an active part in the insurrection of 10 August 1792. Representing the '' départment'' of the Oise in the National Convention, he voted for the immediate execution of King Louis XVI. He accused the Girondists of relations with the Bourbons, then turned against Maximilien Robespierre, who had him expelled from the Jacobin Club for his conduct as commissioner of the Convention with the French Revolutionary Army troops in La Rochelle. On 27 July 1794, at the onset of the Thermidorian Reaction, he was one of the deputies delegated to aid Paul Barras to repress the insurrection of the Paris Commune in favour of Robespierre. François-Louis Cailler (11 June 1796 – 6 April 1852) was a Swiss entrepreneur and early chocolatier who founded Cailler, the first modern brand of Swiss chocolate and the oldest still in existence, in 1819. Biography Cailler was born in Vevey, in the canton of Vaud, on 11 June 1796, in a family originally from Daillens. After an apprenticeship as a grocer in Vevey, he travelled to northern Italy where, in Turin, he learned the art of chocolate-making from the Caffarel chocolate firm. François-Louis de Pourroy de Lauberivière (June 16, 1711 – August 20, 1740) was the fifth bishop of the diocese of Quebec (1739–1740). He was trained in France and had a doctor of theology from the Sorbonne. Biography François-Louis was ordained a priest in 1735 after completing his studies at the Jesuit college in Grenoble and a seminary in Paris. In March, 1739, Louis XV appointed him to succeed Bishop Pierre Hermann Dosquet from Quebec. He sailed from La Rochelle on the ''Rubis'' on 10 June 1740 along with various priests and servants. François-Louis Français (1814–1897), also known as Louis Français, was a French painter, lithographer and illustrator who became one of the most commercially successful landscape painters of the 19th century. A former pupil of Jean Gigoux, Gigoux, he began his career by studying lithography and wood engraving, becoming a prolific illustrator and print-maker. His work as an illustrator is to be found in around forty books and numerous magazines from the late 1830s to the 1860s. Major General François-Louis Lessard, (December 9, 1860 – August 7, 1927) was a Canadian Army officer, most known for his service during the Second Boer War. Biography Born in Quebec City, the son of Louis-Napoléon Lessard and Jane Felicity McCutcheon, Lessard was educated at the Collège Saint-Thomas in Montmagny and the Académie Commerciale de Québec. In 1880, he entered the Quebec Garrison Artillery as a second lieutenant. In 1884, he joined the Cavalry School Corps (now Royal Canadian Dragoons) and participated in the North-West Rebellion in 1885, although his unit did not see combat. He was promoted to captain in 1888 and major in 1894. In 1896, he was made Inspector of Cavalry for the Dominion of Canada. In 1898, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and placed in command of the Royal Canadian Dragoons.
