Franz Schmidt, also Ferenc Schmidt (22 December 1874 – 11 February 1939) was an Austria-Hungary, Austro-Hungarian composer, cellist and pianist.Franz Schmidt (1874–1939) and Dohnányi Ernö (1877–1960): A study in Austro-Hungarian Alternativ. He was a Roman Catholic. His earliest teacher was his mother, Mária Ravasz, an accomplished pianist, who gave him a systematic instruction in the keyboard works of Johann Sebastian Bach, J. S. Bach. Franz Schmidt (1555 – 1634), also known as Meister Franz or Frantz Schmidt, was an executioner in Hof from 1573 to April 1578, and from 1 May 1578 till the end of 1617 he was the executioner of Nuremberg. He left a diary in which he detailed the 361 executions he performed during his 45-year career. Personal and professional life Franz Schmidt's father, Heinrich, was originally a woodsman in the north-eastern Bavarian town Hof. Once, when the notoriously tyrannical margrave of Brandenburg-Kulmbach, Albrecht II (r. 1527–1553), wanted three men hanged, he picked out Heinrich from the crowd and forced him to perform the execution, after which he had no option but to continue in the profession of executioner. Franz Schmidt was probably born in 1555, and was about 18 years old when he became executioner under his father's supervision in Bamberg in 1573. Franz Wendelin Schmidt Silva (born 3 May 2000) is a Peruvian footballer who plays as a centre-back for Peruvian Segunda División side Alianza Universidad. Career Schmidt was promoted to Alianza Lima's reserve squad in February 2018. On 5 September 2019, Schmidt was loaned out to Peruvian Segunda División club Unión Huaral. He made his debut for the club on 12 October 2019 against Sport Loreto. In January 2020, Schmidt was loaned out once again, this time alongside his teammate José Gallardo to Peruvian Primera División side Carlos A. Mannucci for the rest of the year. Franz Schmidt (24 February 1930 – 14 May 2017) was an Austrian serial killer who was twice sentenced to life imprisonment, once for a child murder in 1957 and for a double murder in 1984. Accounting sentences for other convictions up to his release in 2013, he was one of the longest-serving convicts in the country's history. Early life and crimes Franz Schmidt was born on 24 February 1930, in Weißenkirchen im Attergau. The first child of an unmarried maid who had had an affair with her employer, he was adopted at an early age and later sent to the Kaiserebersdorf Educational Institution, where he trained as a carpenter. After his release, he moved to Wels, married and had a child.
