František Humpula
František Humpula (born 28 January 1994) is a Czech professional soft-tip and steel-tip darts player who played in World Darts Federation (WDF) and Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He has represented his country at the PDC World Cup of Darts and WDF Europe Cup. Career His beginnings in darts date back to the summer of 2009, when at the age of 15, his father took him to the playing field of the Krnov Darts League. In 2011, he went to try his luck at a tournament outside Krnov for the first time. He immediately mastered the junior category and became the soft-tip Youth Champion of the Czech Republic. Because he continued to struggle with a lack of finances, he only played tournaments in Krnov and the surrounding area. He made his way among the republic's elite until again at the Czech Championship for the defense of the junior title, which he completely succeeded in. Krnov
Krnov (; german: Jägerndorf, pl, Karniów or ''Krnów'') is a town in Bruntál District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 23,000 inhabitants. Michael Van Gerwen
Michael van Gerwen (; born 25 April 1989) is a Dutch professional darts player. He is currently ranked number 3 in the world, having been number 1 from 2014 to 2021. He is also a three-time PDC World Champion, having won the title in 2014, 2017 and 2019. Van Gerwen is regarded as one of the best players of all time. World Masters (darts)
The World Masters is one of the longest-running and most prestigious of the BDO/WDF tournaments, which began in 1974. The tournament is sponsored by darts board manufacturer, Winmau. The World Masters was unusual in darts in that its sets are the best of 3 legs (first to 2) rather than the standard best of 5 legs (first to 3). It was previously the final leg of the BDO's Grand Slam title of televised majors, along with the BDO World Darts Championship, International Darts League and World Darts Trophy, until the latter two tournaments were axed in 2008. The champion is referred to as the World Master. After the collapse of the British Darts Organisation in September 2020, the World Darts Federation announced plans to launch the WDF World Masters. 2019 Czech Darts Open
The 2019 Czech Darts Open was the ninth of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2019 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the PVA Expo Praha, Prague, Czech Republic, from 28–30 June 2019. It featured a field of 48 players and £140,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. Jamie Hughes won his first PDC title with an 8–3 win over Stephen Bunting in the final. Gerwyn Price hit the fourth nine-dart finish of the 2019 European Tour to beat Glen Durrant 6–4 in the second round. It was also the first of Price's career. The tournament saw a new European tour record for the most seeded players losing their first match as 11 of 16 players including Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright lost in the second round. Ulf Ceder (born 17 April 1974) is a Finnish former professional darts player. Career Ceder reached the first round of the 1996 Winmau World Masters where he lost to Roland Scholten. Ceder then reached the last 32 stage of the 2004 WDF Europe Cup, defeating John Walton before losing to Robert Wagner. He then won the 2005 Finland National Championship, beating Kim Viljanen in the final. Ceder qualified for the 2006 BDO World Darts Championship, winning one of six places in the international playoffs. He was beaten in the first round 3–1 by Scotland's Mike Veitch. The PDC Pro Tour is a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). They comprise Professional Dart Players Association (PDPA) Players Championships and European Tour events. Only four players have gone on to win at least 30 titles on the PDC Pro Tour. Michael van Gerwen has won the most Pro Tour titles winning 84. Phil Taylor is second on the list winning 70 events, Peter Wright third winning 32 events and Gary Anderson in fourth winning 31 events, as of September 2022.
