Fransa-Pax Football Club (formerly known as Pax of Nagoa) was an Indian professional football club based in Nagoa, Goa. The club is best known for folding halfway through the 2005–06 Indian National Football League after their owner Mickky Pacheco accused the All India Football Federation of trying to relegate the club. They have also competed in the Goa Professional League. Mickky Pacheco
Francisco Xavier Pacheco (Mickky) is an Indian politician from Goa. He is a former three-term member of the Goa Legislative Assembly of the Nuvem and Benaulim constituencies and former leader of the Indian National Congress. He held portfolios of Rural Development, Archeology and Archives, Tourism, Captain of Ports, Housing, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Sports and Youth Affairs in the state cabinet. In 2015, Pacheco was convicted of assaulting a government official and sentenced to imprisonment for six months, forcing him to resign from his ministerial post. Political career Pacheco won the 2002 Legislative Assembly election as a member of the United Goans Democratic Party. He later split and formed the United Goans Democratic Party (Secular), which merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party in January 2005. The National Football League (NFL) was a league competition featuring football clubs from India. Founded in 1996 through the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the NFL was the first football league in India to be organized on a national scale. The AIFF then added a second division in 1997 and a third division was soon added by the governing body in 2006. The NFL was eventually replaced by the I-League for the 2007–08 season in order to professionalize the sport in India. As well as league competition, clubs in the NFL would also participate in the two main domestic cup competitions, the Federation Cup and Durand Cup.
