The Regional Council of Goyder is a local government area located in the Mid North region of South Australia. The council area is reliant on agriculture as a mainstay of its economy, with manufacturing and tourism also becoming prominent. The council seat lies at Burra, with a branch office situated at Eudunda. Stuart is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. At 323,131 km², it is a vast country district extending from the Spencer Gulf as far as the Northern Territory border in the north and the Queensland and New South Wales borders in the east. Steinfeld, South Australia
Steinfeld (formerly Stonefield) is a locality in South Australia on the plains east of the Mount Lofty Ranges, and north of the Sturt Highway. The village of Steinfeld was established in the 19th century. It was renamed to Stonefield in 1918 as many List of Australian place names changed from German names, places with German or German-sounding names were changed around World War I. The name reverted to Steinfeld in 1986. The Steinfeld Lutheran congregation was established in 1882, and met in a home until it built its own building in 1890. The congregation met in this building until November 2016. A Lutheran school existed from the 1880s until 1917, when it was forcibly closed by the state government as a result of World War I. It was replaced by a public school in 1917, which operated until 1969. Dutton is a settlement in South Australia. The small township lies approximately north of Truro on the Eudunda Road. It was first laid out in 1866 and lots were advertised for sale in the German-language newspaper ''Südaustralische Zeitung''. The Hundred may have been named after Francis Stacker Dutton, a two-time Premier of South Australia, instigator of the Kapunda Copper Mine, South Australian commissioner at the 1862 International Exhibition, and Agent-General for South Australia in London. Francis was the younger brother of Frederick Dutton, the proprietor of Anlaby Station, near Kapunda. Dutton School opened in 1880 and closed in 1903. The Mid North is a region of South Australia, north of the Adelaide Plains and south of the Far North and the outback. It is generally accepted to extend from Spencer Gulf east to the Barrier Highway, including the coastal plain, the southern part of the Flinders Ranges, and the northern part of the Mount Lofty Ranges.
