Franklin Hobbs
Franklin Warren "Fritz" Hobbs, IV (born July 30, 1947) is an American rower who competed in the 1968 Summer Olympics and in the 1972 Summer Olympics The 1972 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XX Olympiad () and commonly known as Munich 1972 (german: München 1972), was an international multi-sport event held in Munich, West Germany, from 26 August to 11 September 1972. .... He was born in Manchester, New Hampshire and is the older brother of rower Bill Hobbs (rower), Bill Hobbs. In 1968 he was a crew member of the American boat which finished sixth in the Rowing at the 1968 Summer Olympics – Men's eight, eight event. Four years later he won the silver medal with the American boat in the 1972 eights competition. Manchester is a city in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. It is the most populous city in New Hampshire. At the 2020 census, the city had a population of 115,644. Manchester is, along with Nashua, one of two seats of New Hampshire's most populous county, Hillsborough County. Manchester lies near the northern end of the Northeast megalopolis and straddles the banks of the Merrimack River. It was first named by the merchant and inventor Samuel Blodgett, namesake of Samuel Blodget Park and Blodget Street in the city's North End.
