Franklin County High School (Georgia)
Franklin County is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 23,424. The county seat is Carnesville. On February 25, 1784, Franklin and Washington became Georgia's eighth and ninth counties, with Franklin named in honor of patriot Benjamin Franklin. In its original form, Franklin County included all of the territory now in Banks, Barrow, Clarke, Jackson, Oconee, and Stephens counties, and parts of the modern-day Gwinnett, Hall, Hart, and Madison counties, as well as three counties that are now part of South Carolina. Franklin County has several miles of shoreline on Lake Hartwell. Cromer's Mill Covered Bridge
The Cromer's Mill Covered Bridge, spanning Nails Creek near Carnesville, Georgia, was built in 1907. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It is a Town Lattice truss bridge. It has also been known as Nails Creek Covered Bridge. It is located south of Carnesville at Nails Creek. The bridge rests on stone abutments at its ends and a central pier. Franklin Springs is a city in Franklin County, Georgia, United States. The population was 952 at the 2010 census, up from 762 in 2000. Emmanuel College is located here. History Franklin Springs began in the 19th century as a resort spa, with the city incorporating in 1924. Emmanuel University is a private Christian college in Franklin Springs, Georgia. It is affiliated with the International Pentecostal Holiness Church and enrolls more than 900 students. The college offers both associate and bachelor's degrees. History Emmanuel University was founded in 1919 as the Franklin Springs Institute in Franklin Springs, Georgia. In its first years it taught high school courses grades eight through eleven and three college-level courses. The first buildings were two hotels and a skating rink.
