Frankfurt Western Stations
The Frankfurt western stations were a group of three stations on the western edge of the former city walls of Frankfurt am Main, Germany between the modern Willy-Brandt-Platz, then the location of ''Gallustor'' ( Gallus gate) and ''Taunustor'' (Taunus gate). They were replaced by Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof in 1888. The Bahnhofsviertel (; literally: ''train station quarter'') is a quarter of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is part of the ''Ortsbezirk Innenstadt I''. The Bahnhofsviertel was developed between 1891 and 1915. Along with the Westend, the Nordend and the Ostend, it is part of Frankfurt's dense inner city districts. International Electrotechnical Exhibition
The 1891 International Electrotechnical Exhibition was held between 16 May and 19 October on the disused site of the three former ( Western Railway Stations) in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The exhibition featured the first long-distance transmission of high-power, three-phase electric current, which was generated 175 km away at Lauffen am Neckar. As a result of this successful field trial, three-phase current became established for electrical transmission networks throughout the world. Sachsenhausen (Frankfurt Am Main)
Sachsenhausen-Nord and Sachsenhausen-Süd are two quarters of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The division into a northern and a southern part is mostly for administrative purposes as Sachsenhausen is generally considered a single entity. Both city districts are part of the ''Ortsbezirk Süd''. As a whole, Sachsenhausen is the largest district by population and area in Frankfurt.
