Frank W. Cox High School
Frank W. Cox High School is a secondary school located in the Great Neck subdivision of Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was founded in 1961 as the Northeast Junior High School, but upon opening, it was named after a former superintendent of Virginia Beach City Public Schools, Frank Woodard Cox, who led the school division from 1933 to 1968. A replacement building, also designated as a primary hurricane shelter, was built nearby, at 2425 Shorehaven Drive. The high school was moved into the new building in the fall of 1983. The original building at 1848 N. Great Neck Road became Great Neck Junior High and then Great Neck Middle School. The original building was demolished in 2012. Academic and athletic honors Frank W. Cox has an 80% annual passing rate on Advanced Placement Tests, with two out of three graduating students passing with an advanced diploma. Jason Bradford Dubois (born March 26, 1979) is a former Major League Baseball outfielder who played for the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians. Dubois attended Virginia Commonwealth University, and in 1999 he played collegiate summer baseball with the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 14th round of the 2000 Major League Baseball Draft. Dubois was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2002 Rule 5 Draft, but was returned during spring training 2003. He made his major league debut on May 19, 2004, with the Chicago Cubs. Brinson Paolini (born January 8, 1991) is an American professional golfer. Brinson was born in Boise, Idaho and grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He has won the Virginia Amateur four times. Christopher Armand Taylor Jr. (born August 29, 1990), nicknamed "CT3", is an American professional baseball utility player for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Seattle Mariners. He played college baseball for the Virginia Cavaliers. Jared MacEachern (born August 16, 1980) is an American heavy metal musician, best known as a singer and rhythm guitarist of Sanctity. In 2013, he joined Machine Head as bassist, replacing Adam Duce. Biography MacEachern started singing in his parents' church choir when he was five and did that until he was thirteen. He started playing musical instruments when he was ten, starting with the violin but then switching to cello, and then to bass guitar, which he played for several years. He graduated from Frank W. Russell McGee Jr, better known as Genesis the Greykid, is a fine artist, poet, creative director, and underground hip-hop artist who was co-signed by the Media Label Creative Control TV (which used to be under the DD172 umbrella) by filming duo/CEO's Coodie & Chike. As of July 13, 2021, one of Genesis paintings titled 'Computer Love' sold for $87,000 at Phillips (auctioneers) in London. The painting went for almost ten times its estimates.
