Frank Ross (Scottish Footballer)
Francis Ross (born 18 February 1998) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a winger for USL League One club One Knoxville SC. He has previously played for Aberdeen, Greenock Morton, Ayr United and Go Ahead Eagles. Career On 16 May 2015, Ross made his professional debut for Aberdeen in a league match against Dundee. On 3 July 2016, he signed a new two-year contract. On 3 December 2017, Ross scored his first senior goal for the Dons from a free-kick against Rangers. On 8 December, in the next match, he was given his first start for the club, in a 1–0 win against Dundee. Ross was loaned to Championship club Greenock Morton in January 2018. On 8 July 2019, Ross moved on loan to Ayr United until January. He signed a new one-year deal in May 2019 with the Dons, with the option of a further year. ''Out'' is a British television crime drama written by Trevor Preston and directed by Jim Goddard. It was produced by Thames Television in 1978 and starred Tom Bell as Frank ("Frankie") Ross. It was hugely popular at the time of its release with an average audience of 10 million viewers. There was one series (6 episodes), with Bell declining to make a sequel. Plot summary Frank Ross (actor Tom Bell) returns from an eight-year prison sentence for a robbery that was thwarted because somebody 'grassed' the gang. Nobody knows who put the finger on him, but Ross is determined to find out and seeks revenge on those who betrayed him. Frank Ross (born 1959) is a Scottish politician who served as Lord Provost of Edinburgh from April 2017 until May 2022. A member of the Scottish National Party (SNP), he has been a councillor for the Corstorphine/Murrayfield ward in the City of Edinburgh Council since 2012. Born in London, England, Ross moved to Glasgow before attending school in Edinburgh. He attended the Edinburgh Napier University, earning a BA in Business Studies. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. In the 2012 Scottish local elections, he was elected to represent the Corstorphine/Murrayfield ward. Frank Elmore Ross (April 2, 1874 – September 21, 1960) was an American astronomer and physicist. He was born in San Francisco, California and died in Altadena, California. In 1901 he received his doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley, University of California. In 1905 he became director of the International Latitude Observatory station at Gaithersburg, Maryland. In 1915 he became a physicist for Eastman Kodak Company at Rochester, New York. He accepted a position at Yerkes Observatory in 1924 and worked there until his retirement in 1939. His first important work was the calculation of the first reliable orbit of Saturn's moon Phoebe (moon), Phoebe in 1905, and he also calculated orbits for Jupiter's natural satellite, satellites Himalia (moon), Himalia and Elara (moon), Elara. Frank Mackenzie Ross
Frank Mackenzie Ross (April 19, 1891 in Glasgow, Scotland – December 11, 1971 in Vancouver) was the 19th Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia. Ross was the son of Grace Archibald (McCrone) and David Ross. Ross’ first job was as a bank clerk in Montreal in 1910. He joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force at the outbreak of World War I, serving with the 8th Battalion. During the war, Ross received the Military Cross and was a captain by the war's end. After the war, Ross joined a shipbuilding company in Saint John, New Brunswick. From this start, Ross went on to careers in industry and finance. On 3 July 1923 Ross married Gertrude Edith Tomalin, a well-known reciter and entertainer, at the Savoy Chapel. She died in hospital at Saint John, New Brunswick on 22 January 1940, aged 58. Frank Ross (August 4, 1904 – February 8, 1990) was a film producer, writer, and actor. Biography Ross was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of a Dublin-born Irish immigrant tailor, Frank Joseph Ross Sr., and his wife, the former Dorothy Dellano. A graduate of Princeton University, Ross began acting (in an uncredited role) in 1929's '' The Saturday Night Kid'', starring Clara Bow and Jean Arthur. He married Arthur in 1932. He only appeared in two more films. He began working behind the screen at Hal Roach Studios. Ross' first (associate) producing credit was for the 1939 film ''Of Mice and Men''. Other notable productions include the comedies ''The Devil and Miss Jones'' (1941) and ''The More the Merrier'' (1943), both starring his wife, swashbuckler ''The Flame and the Arrow'', co-produced with Norma Productions and starring Burt Lancaster, and Biblical epics ''The Robe'' (1953) and ''Demetrius and the Gladiators'' (1954).
