Frank Paulin
Frank Paulin (August 3, 1926 – June 11, 2016) was born in Pittsburgh was an American artist and photographer. Paulin grew up in New York City and Chicago. At the age of 16 in 1942, his photographic education began as an art apprentice at Whittaker-Christiansen Studio, Chicago. In 1944, Paulin joined the Army, spending two years in the Signal Corps in Europe. During this time, Paulin developed his documentary artistic style by photographing wartime devastation of German cities. In 1946, Paulin returned to Chicago and enrolled at the Institute of Design, By the end of the 1950s, Frank Paulin's educational resume included studies at the New School under the renowned art director Alexey Brodovitch. An artist is a person engaged in an activity related to creating art, practicing the arts, or demonstrating an art. The New School
The New School is a private research university in New York City. Alexey Vyacheslavovich Brodovitch (also Brodovich; be, Аляксей Брадовіч, russian: Алексе́й Вячесла́вович Бродо́вич; 1898 – April 15, 1971) was a Russian-born American photographer, designer and instructor who is most famous for his art direction of fashion magazine ''Harper's Bazaar'' from 1934 to 1958. Early life in Russia Alexey Brodovitch was born in Ogolichi, Оголичи Aholičy, Russian Empire (now Belarus) to a wealthy Polish family in 1898. His father, Cheslau or Vyacheslav Brodovitch, was a respected physician, psychiatrist and huntsman. His mother was an amateur painter. The Hearst Tower is a building at the southwest corner of 57th Street (Manhattan), 57th Street and Eighth Avenue (Manhattan), Eighth Avenue, near Columbus Circle, in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. It is the world headquarters of media conglomerate Hearst Communications, housing many of its publications and communications companies. The Hearst Tower consists of two sections, with a total height of and 46 stories.
