Frank Mann (cricketer)
Francis Thomas Mann (3 March 1888 – 6 October 1964) was an English cricketer. He played for the Malvern XI, Cambridge University, Middlesex and England. Mann captained England on the 1922–23 tour of South Africa, winning the five match series 2–1. Mann was born in Winchmore Hill, Middlesex. During World War I he was an officer of the Scots Guards and was three times wounded and three times mentioned in dispatches To be mentioned in dispatches (or despatches, MiD) describes a member of the armed forces whose name appears in an official report written by a superior officer and sent to the high command, in which their gallant or meritorious action in the face .... He died, aged 76, in Milton Lilbourne, Wiltshire.
