Frank Maher (stuntman)
Francis James "Frank" Maher (18 June 1929 – 13 July 2007) was a British stuntman who was best known for his roles as a stuntman or stunt coordinator in many British television shows including ''Danger Man'' (US: ''Secret Agent'') and ''The Prisoner''; he was frequently the stunt double for the series star Patrick McGoohan. Early career He was born in London on 18 June 1929. He was a gold medal-winning boxer at school. Before his career as a stuntman/actor he served in World War II in the Parachute Regiment of the British Army. He lied about his age to join the regiment which meant that he was only 15 when he took part in the battle of Arnhem (part of Operation Market Garden). His first stunt role was as a Roman Centurion in the film '' Caesar And Cleopatra'' (1945) starring Stewart Granger. Department S (TV Series)
''Department S'' is a British spy-fi adventure series, produced by ITC Entertainment. It consists of 28 episodes which originally aired in 1969 and 1970. It stars Peter Wyngarde as author Jason King (later featured in spin-off series '' Jason King''), Joel Fabiani as Stewart Sullivan, and Rosemary Nicols as computer expert Annabelle Hurst. These three are agents for a fictional special department (the "S" of the title) of Interpol. The head of Department S is Sir Curtis Seretse (Dennis Alaba Peters). St Mary's Hospital, Isle Of Wight
St Mary's Hospital is a hospital located on the outskirts of Newport on the Isle of Wight. It is run by the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. History The hospital was designed by Ahrends, Burton and Koralek following a study into low-energy hospitals commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Security in 1981. It was completed in 1990 and formally opened in 1991. An archaeological investigation was carried out on the site in 2009 but found no features or artifacts of archaeological interest. St Mary's is also the site of a sculpture named ''Land Sea Light Koan'', often shortened to 'the Koan'. The sculpture, which was created by Liliane Lijn and commissioned by the Isle of Wight Health Authority, was installed in 1997. Dilys Laye
Dilys Laye (born Dilys Lay; 11 March 1934 – 13 February 2009) was an English actress and screenwriter, best known for her comedy roles. Early life Laye was born in Muswell Hill, London, the daughter of Edward Lay and his wife Margaret ('' née'' Hewitt). Her father left the family when she was aged eight to work as a musician in South Africa and never came back. During World War II Laye and her brother were evacuated to Devon, where they were unhappy and endured physical abuse. It was based on the literary character Simon Templar created by Leslie Charteris in the 1920s and featured in many novels over the years. In the television series, Templar was played by Roger Moore.
