Frank L. Packard (architect)
Frank L. Packard (June 11, 1866 October 26, 1923) was a prominent architect in Ohio. Many of his works were under the firm Yost & Packard, a company co-owned by Joseph W. Yost. Life and career Frank Lucius Packard was born June 11, 1866 in Delaware, Ohio to Alvaro Harrison Packard and Miranda (Black) Packard. He attended the Delaware public schools and worked as a drafter for local architect and engineer F. A. He was further educated at the Ohio State University in Columbus and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, graduating from the latter in 1887. Independence Centenary International Exposition
The Independence Centenary International Exposition ( pt, Exposição Internacional do Centenário da Independência) was a World Expo held in Rio de Janeiro from September 7, 1922 to March 23, 1923, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Brazil's Independence. The expo happened during the Epitácio Pessoa Administration and was regarded as an opportunity to show off Brazil's growing industries and commercial opportunities. Gahanna, Ohio
Gahanna ( ) is a city situated in northeast Franklin County, Ohio, United States. It is a suburb of Columbus. The population was 35,726 at the 2020 census. It was founded in 1849. History Gahanna was founded along the Big Walnut Creek in 1849 by John Clark of Ross County from of land that his father, Joseph Clark, had purchased from Governor Worthington in 1814. Clark named his property the Gahanna Plantation, from which the City of Gahanna derives its name. The name Gahanna is derived from a Native American word for three creeks joining into one and is the former name of the Big Walnut Creek. The City of Gahanna's Official Seal refers to this confluence of three creeks with the inscription "Three In One". Gahanna maintained a considerable rivalry with the adjacent village of Bridgeport. Richards, McCarty & Bulford was an American architectural firm. The General Services Administration has called the firm the "preeminent" architectural firm of the city of Columbus, Ohio. A number of the firm's works are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. History Clarence Earl Richards (1864–1921) and Joel Edward McCarty (1856–1952) founded the firm as Richards & McCarty in 1898, Columbus, Ohio. George Henry Bulford (1870–1942) joined as partner in 1899 and the firm name became Richards, McCarty & Bulford. Huntington National Bank Building
The Huntington National Bank Building is a bank and office building on Capitol Square in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. Once the headquarters to the Huntington National Bank, it now includes the company's primary lending bank, the Capitol Square Branch. It is part of the Huntington Center complex, which also contains the Huntington Center skyscraper, Huntington Plaza, and DoubleTree Hotel Guest Suites Columbus. The building envelops the twelve-story Harrison Building at 21 South High Street, built in 1903. Huntington Bank's offices moved there from their old building nearby, at the southwest corner of Broad and High, in 1916. The Columbus Dispatch Building is a historic building on Capitol Square in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The building was home to the ''Columbus Dispatch'' newspaper offices until January 2016, when it moved to 62 E. Broad St. on Capitol Square. A renovation restored the building closer to its original exterior appearance, while adding modern features. The building is now headquarters to the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. Green Lawn Cemetery is a historic private rural cemetery located in Columbus, Ohio in the United States. Organized in 1848 and opened in 1849, the cemetery was the city's premier burying ground in the 1800s and beyond. An American Civil War memorial was erected there in 1891, and chapel constructed in 1902. With , it is Ohio's second-largest cemetery.
