Frank J. Manheim
Frank J. Manheim, was a college professor, businessman, author and horse racing enthusiast in the United States. He taught at Union College in Schenectady, New York in the 1930s and worked at the investment banking firm Lehman Brothers for over 35 years, where he was a partner. He was a collector of French glass paperweights and wrote a book on that topic. He also wrote a travel book on London, where he had retired and where he died. Manheim served as Lehman Brothers’ principal partner in the post-war commercial success of Western Europe, managing much of the U.S. investment into the continent. He was named a director of more than 20 major publicly traded corporations including manufacturers and was one of the key influences in the rise of Hertz Corporation to its global leadership in rental cars. Union College
Union College is a private liberal arts college in Schenectady, New York. Office Of Strategic Services
The Office of Strategic Services (OSS) was the intelligence agency of the United States during World War II. The OSS was formed as an agency of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) to coordinate espionage activities behind enemy lines for all branches of the United States Armed Forces. Other OSS functions included the use of propaganda, subversion, and post-war planning. The OSS was dissolved a month after the end of the war. Cutty Sark is a brand of blended Scotch whisky produced by La Martiniquaise in Scotland. The whisky was created on 23 March 1923 as a product of Berry Bros. & Rudd, with the home of the blend considered to be at The Glenrothes distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland. The name comes from the River Clyde-built clipper ship ''Cutty Sark'', whose name came from the Scots term " cutty-sark", the short shirt kirtprominently mentioned in the famous poem by Robert Burns, " Tam o' Shanter".
