Frank Fitzgibbon
Frank Fitzgibbon is an Irish newspaper editor and journalist. He is one of the four founders of ''The Sunday Business Post'' in 1989. Fitzgibbon edited the Irish edition of The Sunday Times for 15 years from 2005 until 2020. He worked as a freelance journalist and then editor of the Kevin Kelly's, monthly '' Irish Business Magazine'' before setting up the Sunday Business Post. Fitzgibbon also worked for the Sunday Tribune, Business & Finance Magazine and as a presenter and reporter on current affairs for RTE Television. He worked as Business editor of The Sunday Times from 2002 until he succeeded Fiona McHugh. The son of journalist and broadcaster Denis ('Din Joe') Fitzgibbon he is originally from Bancroft, Tallaght, Co. Dublin, he was educated at St Mary's College, Dublin Saint Mary's College C.S.Sp. The Sunday Business Post
The ''Business Post'' (formerly ''The Sunday Business Post'') is a Sunday newspaper distributed nationally in Ireland and an online publication. It is focused mainly on business and financial issues in Ireland. Founding to Irish financial crisis ''The Sunday Business Post'' was co-founded by four people: the economist and editor Damien Kiberd, Aileen O'Toole (former editor of '' Business & Finance''), Frank Fitzgibbon (editor of ''The Sunday Times'' Ireland) and James Morrissey (spokesperson for Denis O'Brien). The ''SBP'' was previously owned by Thomas Crosbie Holdings (TCH). It was then owned by Key Capital, Paul Cooke and staff members (6% equity for staff). It was then owned by Sunrise Media, the shareholders of which include Key Capital. It is now owned by Kilcullen Capital Partners. The paper's first edition appeared on 26 November 1989. The Sunday Times
''The Sunday Times'' is a British newspaper whose circulation makes it the largest in Britain's quality press market category. It was founded in 1821 as ''The New Observer''. It is published by Times Newspapers Ltd, a subsidiary of News UK, which is owned by News Corp. Times Newspapers also publishes ''The Times''. The two papers were founded independently and have been under common ownership since 1966. They were bought by News International in 1981. ''The Sunday Times'' has a circulation of just over 650,000, which exceeds that of its main rivals, including ''The'' ''Sunday Telegraph'' and ''The'' ''Observer'', combined. While some other national newspapers moved to a tabloid format in the early 2000s, ''The Sunday Times'' has retained the larger broadsheet format and has said that it would continue to do so. Kevin Kelly (publisher)
Kevin Kelly (born c. 1937), is an Irish publisher and editor who has created magazines in England, America and Ireland. Born in County Londonderry, he is married to Rose with whom he set up Image magazine in 1975. Among his best-known titles is '' World of Interiors'', which he established in 1981 with Min Hogg as editor. Condé Nast later bought the publication from Kelly. In 1987 Condé Nast and the Financial Times financed the creation of the monthly ''BUSINESS'' magazine, which won a PPA Business Magazine of the year award. Kelly held a 20% stake in the title, while the remaining 80% was divided between Condé Nast and the Financial Times. The magazine was last published in 1991. In 1990 Kelly produced a British edition of ''W'' at the request of John Fairchild. ''Departures'' was a title that Kelly created and published for American Express Black cardholders. The ''Sunday Tribune'' was an Irish Sunday broadsheet newspaper published by Tribune Newspapers plc. It was edited in its final years by Nóirín Hegarty, who changed both the tone and the physical format of the newspaper from broadsheet to tabloid. Previous editors were Conor Brady, Vincent Browne, Peter Murtagh, Matt Cooper and Paddy Murray. The ''Sunday Tribune'' was founded in 1980, closed in 1982, relaunched in 1983 and entered receivership in February 2011 after which it ceased to trade. ''Business & Finance'' (sometimes ''B&F'') is a fortnightly Irish business magazine published by Belenos Publications, that was established by Hugh McLaughlin in September 1964. It provides news and comment, and analysis on Irish and international news stories. The readership is made up of business professionals, including senior level business leaders such as CEOs and heads of functions. It was a sister title to investigative news magazine ''Magill'', which closed finally in 2009. History and circulation The magazine has been published continually since its foundation in 1964. Fiona McHugh
Fiona McHugh is an Irish journalist and editor. Educated at University College Dublin, where she studied English and philosophy. As a journalist, she worked for The Economist, Bloomberg, and Reuters, before being appointed editor of the Irish edition of The Sunday Times, in 2000, succeeding Rory Godson, a position she held until 2005. With her husband, property developer Paul Byrne, they founded ''Fallon & Byrne'', the high-end food store in 2005, in Exchequer Street in Dublin. In 2017, they opened another branch in Rathmines, which included a restaurant. The Rathmines branch was closed in January 2020, and they sold Fallon & Byrne in early 2020.
