Frank Beede
Frank McNulty Beede III (born March 1, 1973) is a former professional American football player who played offensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL) for five seasons for the Seattle Seahawks and seven years in the Arena Football League (AFL) for the San Jose Sabercats. Early life Beede was born in Antioch, California and graduated from Antioch High School in 1991 where he lettered in three sports: football, wrestling and track. He was the BVAL heavyweight wrestling champion in his senior year. College years Pursuing football in college, Beede played on the offensive line as a guard for three seasons at the University of California, Berkeley. He played in the 1992 Citrus Bowl and 1993 Alamo Bowl and earned honorable mention for the 1994 All-Pacific-10 Conference. In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. The 1993 Alamo Bowl was the inaugural edition of the college football bowl game and featured the California Golden Bears of the Pacific-10 Conference and the Iowa Hawkeyes of the Big Ten Conference. The 1992 Florida Citrus Bowl matched the Clemson Tigers and the California Golden Bears. It was the final game for both teams for the 1991 NCAA Division I-A football season and the 46th annual Citrus Bowl game held.
