Francois Pennacchio
Francois Pennacchio (born June 24, 1965) is a French kickboxer who became WAKO champion in 1993 and 1998, and the ISKA champion in 1997. Known for his use of savate against other kickboxing styles such as muay thai, karate, and Dutch kickboxing, Pennacchio fought a total of 100 bouts against many famous kickboxers at that time, and helped popularized the use of savate in mainstream professional combat sports. Nowadays, he is considered to be one of the greatest savate fighters of all time. Biography Francois Pennacchio was born in France in the year 1965. ISKA
The ISKA (originally International Sport Karate Association, later also called the International Sport Kickboxing Association) is one of the major international bodies regulating sport karate and kickboxing matches, and is based in the United States. It was established in 1985 as a response to legal and revenue issues that sent the Professional Karate Association (PKA) into decline. Sweep (martial Arts)
A sweep is either of two categories of martial arts techniques. From standing, sweeps are throws or takedowns that primarily use the legs to attack an opponent's legs. On the ground, sweeps are techniques for reversing a grappling position from a guard position. Standing When standing it is a technique used to take an opponent to the ground by knocking their legs out from under them, so is classed as a throw or takedown. The force of the sweep either runs perpendicular to the opponent's leg or rises as it strikes the leg, lifting the foot from the ground. A sweep can be used to take the opponent to the ground or it can simply disrupt the opponent's balance long enough to make an opening for a punch or kick. In Japanese it is known as ''ashi-barai''.
