Franco, Ciccio E Il Pirata Barbanera
''Franco, Ciccio e il pirata Barbanera'' (''Franco, Ciccio and Blackbeard the Pirate'') is a 1969 Italian comedy film directed by Mario Amendola starring the comic duo Franco and Ciccio. Is a parody of the 1883 adventure novel ''Treasure Island'' of Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson. Plot England, 1700: Franco is the illegitimate son of a pirate died at sea, and now he works as a waiter in a tavern. Ciccio is an unfortunate Capitan Black who tries to bring up his image as that of a great bloody killer. The two meet in a ship, where Franco discovers a map where there are directions to a mysterious island, where there's buried the treasure of the notorious pirate Flint. Ciccio then proposes to recruit a crew, and so doesn't realize that between the hubs and the people of the sea enters the dreaded pirate Blackbeard, who's seeking revenge, because years ago he helped Flint earning the coveted treasure... Mario Amendola
Mario Natalino Concetto Amendola (8 December 1910 – 22 December 1993) was an Italian screenwriter, film director and dramatist. Biography Amendola was born in Recco, which is located in Genova to parents from Rome. He began his career on stage in 1931 as a writer for avanspettacolo shows. During that time, he wrote dialogue for Erminio Macario, Totò and more. He ended this profession and moved to cinema in 1949. He wrote for 153 films between 1941 and 1987. He also directed 37 films between 1949 and 1975. Amendola collaborated with Bruno Corbucci on conceiving the Nico Giraldi film series starring Tomas Milian. Amendola died in 1993 from complications from diabetes. Fernando Sancho
Fernando Sancho Les (7 January 1916 – 31 July 1990) was a Spanish actor. Biography He was born in Zaragoza, in Aragon, Spain on 7 January 1916 and died at Hospital Militar Gómez Ulla in Madrid on 31 July 1990 from a liver failure during or following surgery to remove a malignant tumor in the pancreas. He was interred in Madrid. Fernando Sancho fought in the Spanish Civil War on the rebel side, being wounded several times and achieving the rank of lieutenant in the Legion. Ignazio Balsamo (25 October 1912 – 7 August 1994) was an Italian film and stage actor. Life and career Born in Catania, Balsamo began his career on stage, being part of several Sicilian language theatrical companies. Discovered by Pietro Germi, who offered him a role of weight in the film '' In the Name of the Law'', following the success of the film Balsamo moved to Rome where he had a long film career as a character actor, mainly cast in roles of Sicilian criminals and villains. Born in Trieste, D'Orsi took a degree in law in 1953, but he was already active in theater from 1950, performing in small companies of prose and revue.
