Sebastiaen Vrancx, Sebastiaan Vrancx or Sebastian Vranckx (; 22 January 1573 – 19 May 1647) was a Flemish Baroque painter, draughtsman and designer of prints who is mainly known for his battle scenes, a genre that he pioneered in Netherlandish painting. Jan Baptist Francken
Jan Baptist Francken was supposed to be a painter from the Francken family and/or the son of Sebastian Vrancx, but is now considered to have been an error and to have never existed. The confusion was created by the many painters named Francken, some poor attributions, and a portrait by Anthony van Dyck of a certain Johannes Baptist Franck, aged 32, of whom nothing more is known. He is sometimes said to be the same as Hans Francken (born in 1581), another obscure member of the same family. In art histories from the 18th and 19th century like Michael Bryan's ''Bryan's dictionary of painters and engravers'' (1886) he received a lengthy lemma: :FRANCKEN, Jan Baptist, the son of Sebastiaen Francken, was born at Antwerp in 1599. Flemish (''Vlaams'') is a Low Franconian dialect cluster of the Dutch language. It is sometimes referred to as Flemish Dutch (), Belgian Dutch ( ), or Southern Dutch (). Fritz Francken
Frederik Edward Clijmans (17 April 1893 – 15 August 1969) was a Flemish poet and prose writer, he used the pseudonym Fritz Francken. He is best known for his war poetry and prose. Clijmans initially worked as a journalist and as a librarian. Thereafter he concentrated more on writing fiction. His first collection of poems ''Festijnen uit een huisgetij'' was published in 1914. Francken fought in the First World War and later wrote about his experiences as a soldier. In the 1930s Francken was head of the tourism department in his native Antwerp for several years. In the course of his life he concentrated mainly on stories, novels, essays and memoirs. He mainly wrote about the little things in everyday life.
