Francisco Pérez Sierra
Francisco Pérez Sierra (c. 1627 in Naples – 1709) was a Neapolitan painter of Spanish origin. According to Antonio Palomino, he was the son of a Spanish general. He was a disciple of Aniello Falcone and Juan de Toledo. Numerous works that he painted included the ''Immaculate Conception'', painted in 1655 in the convent of the Trinitarias de Madrid, ''Santa Ana conduciendo a la Virgen'' which is now at the Museo del Prado and ''Saint Joachim'' which is now at the Museo de Bellas Artes de Granada, he also painted ''Vase of Flowers'' in around 1690 (oil on panel, 62x43 cm) which is now at the Royal Palace in Madrid. Antonio Palomino
Acislo Antonio Palomino de Castro y Velasco (165513 April 1726) was a Spanish painter of the Baroque period, and a writer on art, author of ''El Museo pictórico y escala óptica'', which contains a large amount of important biographical material on Spanish artists. Life Antonio Palomino was born to a respectable family at Bujalance, near Córdoba in 1655. He studied philosophy, theology and law at Córdoba, and had lessons in painting from Juan de Valdés Leal, who visited there in 1672, and afterwards from Juan de Alfaro y Gamez in 1675. After taking minor orders Palomino moved to Madrid in 1678, where he associated with Alfaro, Claudio Coello, and Juan Carreño de Miranda, and executed some indifferent frescoes. He soon afterwards married a lady of rank, and, having been appointed ''alcalde'' of the ''mesta'', was himself ennobled; in 1688 he was appointed painter to King Charles II. Aniello Falcone
Aniello Falcone (15 November 16001656) was an Italian Baroque painter, active in Naples and noted for his painted depictions of battle scenes. Some sources refer to him as ''Ancillo Falcone''. Biography Born in Naples the son of a tradesman, he showed his artistic tendency at an early age. He first received some instruction from a relative, before becoming one of the most prominent pupils of José de Ribera. He is best known for his battle scenes, their subjects taken from both biblical and secular history, and was nicknamed ''L'Oracolo delle Battaglie''. He gained an international reputation; his works attracted the attention of the Flemish dealer and collector Gaspar Roomer, who sold his work across Europe, and he was one of the artists commissioned by Philip IV of Spain to paint a series of scenes from ancient Roman history for the Buen Retiro palace. Juan De Toledo
Juan Bautista de Toledo (c. 1515 – 19 May 1567) was a Spanish architect. He was educated in Italy, in the Italian High Renaissance. As many Italian renaissance architects, he had experience in both architecture and military and civil public works. Born, either in Toledo or in Madrid around 1515. He died on 19 May 1567 in Madrid, and was buried in Madrid in the choir of the primitive “Convento de Santo Tomás, Iglesia de la Santa Cruz”. Career Perhaps he started his career in architecture in Rome, between 1534 and 1541, working for Michelangelo and Pope Paul III (Alessandro Farnese), completing the courtyard of Palazzo Farnese.
