Paco Pérez
Francisco Pérez Muñoz (1916–1951) was a singer, composer, and guitarist from Guatemala. Biography Pérez was born on April 25, 1916, in Huehuetenango, Guatemala to José Pérez and Luz Muñoz. At the age of 6, he acted in the municipal theater. In 1927, he moved with his family to Quetzaltenango, where he took on various roles as a singer and orator. Pérez made his grand debut in 1935 in the municipal theater of Quetzaltenango, accompanied by Juan Sandoval on piano. Later he formed the ''Trío Quetzaltecos'' with Manolo Rosales and José Alvarez. When Quetzaltenango radio station TGQ launched in 1937, he aired a series of concerts. Pérez achieved fame for his waltz, ''Luna de Xelajú'' (1944), which has become an element in Guatemalan cultural identity. The song figures in the repertory of most singers, choirs, marimba players and musical groups in Guatemala. Francisco Antonio Pérez Salas (1764 – November 10, 1828) was a Chilean political figure. He served several times as member of different Government Juntas, and participated actively in the war of independence in that country. He was born in Santiago, the son of José Pérez García and of Ana Josefa Ramirez de Salas y Pavón. Pérez studied law and was admitted to practice in colonial Chile. He was a member of the Government Junta established on April 13, 1813, together with Agustín Eyzaguirre and José Miguel Infante. He was president of the junta between April 13 and August 23, and remained a member until October 9 of the same year. He is one of the founders of the National Library of Chile. Francisco Guillermo Flores Pérez (17 October 1959 – 30 January 2016) was a Salvadoran politician who served as President of El Salvador from 1 June 1999 to 1 June 2004 as a member of the conservative Nationalist Republican Alliance (ARENA). He previously served as a deputy of the Legislative Assembly from 1994 to 1999, having been president of the Assembly from 1997 to 1999. Flores was born in Santa Ana. He entered politics in the Alfredo Cristiani administration, serving various positions until his election to the Legislative Assembly, of which he became president after three years. The Battle of Buena Vista (February 22–23, 1847), known as the Battle of La Angostura in Mexico, and sometimes as Battle of Buena Vista/La Angostura, was a battle of the Mexican–American War. It was fought between the US invading forces, largely volunteers, under General Zachary Taylor, and the much larger Mexican Army under General Antonio López de Santa Anna. It took place near Buena Vista, a village in the state of Coahuila, about south of Saltillo, Mexico. ''La Angostura'' ("the narrow place") was the local name for the site. Francisco Pérez (born May 9, 1969) is an Argentine lawyer and politician elected Governor of Mendoza Province in 2011. Biography Pérez was born in San Salvador de Jujuy, in 1969, to María Ercilia and Francisco Pérez. His father, with whom he shared his nickname ("Paco"), was a dentist who would be elected Mayor of San Pedro de Jujuy; the young Pérez lost his mother at age five.
